HP PageWide C550 Press

Increase press performance and optimize your print quality with HP’s technology innovations.

The innovative top feeder is designed to handle a wide range of industry grade sheets including thin and micro-flutes while keeping to minimal footprint. It can feed the print smoothly in consistent speed of 90 m/min (295 ft/min), while automatically handle poor-quality stacks and differences.

The print bridge is made up of 91 print heads, distributed along 7 print beams. The first set of 13 print heads jet HP’s water-based Bonding agent, selectively on the board. Thus replacing completely, the need to prime the board prior to printing. The next print beams print CMYK water-based inks with built-in redundancy that allows achieving multi-pass quality in a single pass.

The unique Virtual Belt technology ensures precise media motion control. It guides boards through the printing process at production speed, with precise dot placement accuracy across the full run.

The Corrugated Grips hold the edges of warped sheets flat throughout the print process.

The C550 true water-based inks allows a wide range of packaging applications, including primary non-contact food packaging. The true water-based inks adhere to global health and safety requirements.

HP Thermal Ink jet print heads technology delivers offset print quality in a cost-effective manner. With 6x redundancy, print quality if consistently high even at fast production speeds.

The conveyor allows water to be absorbed by the paper, while the pigments are held on the surface by the bonding agent, enabling ink efficiency and high quality.

Any remaining water is fully evaporated and the image is completely dry. The process is managed by both hot air and IR lamps that effectively dry a wide range of media weights at high speed.

The aqueous varnish provides the necessary durability using standard flood flexo coater. Windows for gluing is facilitated by the Bonding agent (Fixer for Knockouts).

The stacker ensures consistent sorting and stacking of boards, according to quality. With dedicated tray for samples taken during print and dedicated tray for ejects.
