HP Broadens Portfolio of Imaging and Printing Solutions for Enterprise Customers

PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 12, 2008

HP today announced five new printing solutions – ranging from check printing security to document capture – to address the security and manageability needs of its enterprise customers.

HP, together with its solution partners, enables customers to manage, secure and improve workflow in their imaging and printing environments. The new solutions, developed through the HP Solution Business Partner (SBP) program, are designed to help customers maximize efficiency and improve business processes.

“HP and its partners continue to build a portfolio of solutions focused on our customers’ top business concerns,” said John Johasky, vice president and general manager, Worldwide Sales and Services, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. “Today’s announcement addresses the growing demand for expertise and technology to improve imaging and printing efficiency, while still enabling customers to mitigate the rise of printing costs and the risks associated with security and compliance.”

Solutions to manage and maximize efficiency across enterprises

  • HP, along with partners Troy, SafeCom, Captaris and Standard Register, is delivering the following solutions that address business needs from security to manageability:

  • HP Check Printing Security Solutions from HP and Troy Group, Inc.(1) are ideal for banking and finance industries. Design features help safeguard the printing device while meeting stringent check processing standards to avoid check fraud. Solutions are also available to reduce fraud with documents, including school report cards, prescriptions and birth certificates.
  • HP Imaging and Printing Job Accounting and Security Solutions from HP and SafeCom(2) allow customers to control printing expenses and color use, protect confidential documents, and decrease environmental impact by reducing paper and toner consumption through enforced printing and copying policies, such as duplex printing and non-color printing, and user authentication requirements.
  • The HP LAN Fax Solution from HP and Captaris(1) combines the Captaris RightFax offering with HP multifunction printers (MFPs) and digital senders. Instead of using traditional stand-alone fax machines, users can now send and receive faxes easily from an MFP, digital sender or PC, reducing the number of devices and supplies required for the office.
  • The HP Print Optimization Solution from HP and Standard Register(3) enables organizations to control rising printing costs with an integrated print management system. The solution monitors and reports usage data and offers interactive messaging to educate users on the cost of printing by suggesting or enforcing the routing of print jobs to the most cost-efficient output device based on set rules.

Improve business processes with complete capture and delivery solutions

The HP Document Capture Solutions from HP and Kofax(1) provide flexible document capture tools that enable customers to automate distribution and information exchange, transforming document capture into a competitive advantage. The solution helps enterprises mitigate risks with a system designed to meet privacy, security and compliance regulations.

The workflow solution complements the HP Access Control Printing Solutions portfolio, providing authentication, audit and accounting capabilities and enabling enterprises to improve and simplify document capture and exchange, leading to new efficiencies in paper-based workflows.

In addition, the recently announced HP Scanjet N9120 Document Flatbed Scanner is now certified with document capture solutions from three HP Solutions Business Partners: Kofax, Omtool and ReadSoft. Customers can easily integrate document management applications and improve productivity. The scanner, now available for purchase, is ideal for users looking to enhance productivity, efficiency, document handling and reliability.

Quality assurance for HP customers with certified partner solutions

The HP Solutions Business Partner Accreditation, Certification and Test (ACT) Program continues to gain momentum. With its 13 accredited partner companies and 20 HP-certified solutions, HP continues to expand the range of infrastructure, management and workflow solutions for its customers.
