What does "refurbished" mean?

Refurbished products are HP laptops, desktops, printers and more that were returned to HP for a variety of reasons. Products that are refurbished by HP are restored to their original condition and performance. Refurbished products are sometimes called reconditioned or renewed, but they are not always secondhand.

Where do refurbished products come from?

• Returned and cancelled orders where the products have not been used or unboxed.
• Products returned because of cosmetic flaws, packaging shipping damage, or a broken/missing part.
• Unsold products that are returned by a dealer to make room for newer product lines.
• Products have been used as HP demos.

What is HP’s refurbishment process?

Products are fully tested; any broken or defective parts identified in testing are replaced and tested again. Products are then cleaned, re-packaged and assigned a new refurbished part number. HP’s engineers will validate the Operating System and firmware, and re-image PCs to the latest factory updates.
