I have had inordinate trouble trying to get this printer to work with my set-up, even though it regales me with automatic printouts showing everything is just fine! The software that comes with the printer is dodgy in the extreme and I can only warn people to wait until HP fixes up this mish-mash of incompatible programs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP Laser Jet 4001dw is a real PRO. Great value for a home office when you want / need something just a little bit better, A4 @ 40 ppm and all Wi Fi made this the perfect choice for me, and delivered to my door meant no down time for me to collect, very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Two-Page Printing a true bonus Easy Two-Page Printing, a true bonus has been the outstanding feature for me with my LJ 4001. My previous LJ was a very reliable workhorse but two-page printing was complicated and open to many errors if you didn't get it quite right when printing on one side then having to reinsert the half-printed pages in a special way. I gave up very quickly. But now, there is none of that, you choose two-sided printing and the paper leaves the cassette and the 4001 does it all in a flash. The printer itself is much more compact and all the functions I seeker performed flawlessly.

Questions and Answers

The intro specs say “duplex printing” and “wifi”, but the detailed specs say these features are not available. Can you confirm for the LASER JET 4001dw?

Hey Zemo, Yes! HP LaserJet Pro 4001dw Printer supports automatic duplex printing in A4; 16K (195 x 270 mm, 184 x 260 mm, 197 x 273 mm); oficio media size. This printer comes with Apple AirPrint, Bluetooth, Ethernet networking, Mopria, USB, and wireless (Wi-Fi) connectivity.

Can this printer print to A3 paper? Or can it have an A3 tray added to it?

Hey Carole, We regret to inform you that the HP LaserJet Pro 4001dw Printer does not support A3 media size. Supported media sizes in this printer are A4; A5; A6; B5 (JIS); B6 (JIS); 16K (195 x 270 mm, 184 x 260 mm, 197 x 273 mm); 10 x 15 cm; Oficio (216 x 340 mm); postcards (JIS single, JIS double).
