The digital divide is widening, and HP is stepping up to help make distance learning more equitable and accessible. Students across the country are returning to a mix of in-person, remote, or hybrid learning models, and families without Wi-Fi, laptops, or PCs are struggling the most. In response, HP is partnering with community organizations, school districts, and education partners to empower educators and help students learn.
 
One of HP's initiatives is the HP Refresh program, which provides an easy way to give older computers new life for students in need. The program is free and open-source, and has already helped distribute thousands of computers to students worldwide. To aid those without digital access, HP's Turn to Learn program has distributed over 220,000 booklets of printed learning materials to schools, nonprofits, and service organizations in the US, Canada, and Haiti.
 
To tackle the challenges of the new hybrid learning environment, HP is partnering with schools like the Susquehanna Township School District to create a suite of interactive tools. These tools allow teachers to broadcast their lessons to remote learners and in-class students simultaneously, fostering an inclusive learning experience.
 
Furthermore, HP's BeOnline initiative provides a free platform of tools and resources to help educators build new teaching skills for the digital environment. This program aims to empower teachers with inspiring content and creative ideas to improve academic productivity, with plans to eventually reach nearly 3 million students around the globe.
 
HP's commitment to prioritizing schools and students is essential in addressing the longstanding problem of the digital divide. Although these solutions are not a panacea, HP's efforts can help bridge the gap in education and provide more equitable learning opportunities for all.
