Rated 1 out of 5 by from WORST DESIGNED PRINTER - DONT BUY THIS I am a Small Business Owner from India and been using HP printers from Last 20 years.. Brought this printer MFP 178 NW in Feb 2023 and f i am given an option I would rate this Printer in Negative. from a user point of view the Design itself is wrong.. I don't know how a Company like HP has such a Bad design team.. 1 - The Paper Tray - it should have 2 trays, as user may have to use 2 sizes of paper at any point, and if single tray then the printers sensors has to be properly placed or may be made more effective, because every time we need to change the paper size we have to remove the tray and again insert it and the fixing is so difficult that we literally have to fight with it. 2 - The Paper Jam Problem - i think atleast thrice a day the paper gets Stuck inside the Roller and they have made it so difficult to remove the paper that its not easy for everyone.. i think if you are small team then every time you will need a service executive to be called for this. 3 - Waste Ink BIN -- Half of my Toner Powder falls inside the Waste Tank and when we open to clean it - oh That's a Task in itself --- and don't forget WASTE of THE EXPENSIVE INKN POWDER. 4 - The Display is So Small for a multifunctional Color printer like this -- Waste .. We need to focus so much to even make basic changes .. 5 - Dispensing Tray - This is the worst thing with this Printer - They have given such a small space that if you are printing an envelope or a smaller paper like A5 - its a major problem to take out the printer paper from the dispensing space.. WORST Now i brought this printer on just suggestion from one of the HP dealers -- but would request you all not to buy this.. i am again back to using my old LaserJet 1005 and trying that HP can help me with a replacement or refund

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Top Notch for HP Customer Service This printer to be unacceptably unreliable, currently 2nd time I had to send to the service centre and at the moment still waiting for parts, with no estimated timeframe, the printer is rarely used, it is still on the original toner that came with the unit, and it had already been in service centre twice for warranty, first time had banding issue on the printout, the whole unit was replaced, apparently its a common issue with this model I was told, What is worse is HP wont accept return of this defective product, nice customer service, 3year warranty means nothing, will be the last time purchasing a HP product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Paper jam quite often. After second day of using it, I am not sure why the paper jammed quite often. The paper loading roller cannot pull the paper in and I need to remove the paper tray to pull the paper out and also open and close the back cover to resume the printing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall, it’s done its job I got this printer as a token from my company and after using it about 6 months now, i can say it serves its purpose. However, it takes some time to print simple documents (slower than my previous printer).. the toner is quite pricey. On my personal note, it’s recommended for office/company use, but not so much for the personal basis.

All Seems well except after 10min of setting it up, I realised one crucially important feature is missing for me, it cannot directly scan to computer from the printer straight away by pressing a button, meaning you have to open an application on your computer in order to scan then save the scanned document.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless Expensive Color Printer still cant setup the printer from day one. i get hp support try to fix the printer but still failure. yes i'm require immediate attention because i saw during the support try to fix the problem, they do too much setting for installation. how there hp design a printer that so difficult to setup. hi i am interested in this printer HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw Printer, but i have question Can this model print on 220 gsm weight card stock? ,if yes does have specific tray for this thick weight or can use the same tray as the plain paper? Thank you

Hey Amyrul, The supported g/m2 in the HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw Printer is 60 to 220 g/m². The same tray can be used for 220 g.m2.
