You may have bought AirPods to use with your iPhone, but did you know you can also use them with your Windows laptop? In this guide, we’ll show you how to easily connect your AirPods to a Windows laptop, including steps to disconnect and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
While AirPods are designed to work optimally with Apple devices, they can actually be used with any Bluetooth-enabled device. This means you can connect your AirPods to virtually any Windows laptop from HP.
Follow these steps to connect your AirPods to an HP Windows laptop:
Place the AirPods in their charging case and close the lid. Wait a few seconds.
Open the lid of the charging case.
Press and hold the Setup button on the back of the case until you see the LED light flashing.
Open the Start Menu on your HP laptop.
Go to Settings (gear icon).
Click on “Bluetooth & devices” (Windows 11) or “Devices” then “Bluetooth & other devices” (Windows 10).
Click “Add device” (Windows 11) or “Add Bluetooth or other device” (Windows 10).
Select “Bluetooth”.
Choose your AirPods from the list of available devices.
Click “Done” when you see the message “Your device is ready to go”.
Now you can start listening to audio from your HP laptop through your AirPods!
To connect or disconnect your AirPods:
Open the Bluetooth menu as described above.
Find your AirPods in the device list.
Click “Connect” or “Disconnect”.
If you want to remove your AirPods from the Bluetooth list:
Open the Start Menu and go to Settings.
Click “Bluetooth & devices” (Windows 11) or “Devices” then “Bluetooth & other devices” (Windows 10).
Find your AirPods in the list.
For Windows 11: Click the three vertical dots and select “Remove device”.
For Windows 10: Click “Remove device”.
If you’re having trouble connecting your AirPods to your HP laptop, try these steps:
Make sure your AirPods’ battery isn’t depleted.
Reset your AirPods:
Place the AirPods in the case and close the lid.
Wait 30 seconds and open the lid again.
Remove the AirPods from the Bluetooth list and reconnect.
If problems persist, use the Windows troubleshooter:
Open the Start Menu.
Click “System” (Windows 11) or “Update & Security” (Windows 10).
Click “Troubleshoot”.
Click “Other troubleshooters”.
Click “Bluetooth”.
To access Bluetooth settings more quickly:
Press Windows + A to open the action center.
Click the Bluetooth icon to turn Bluetooth on or off.
