HP has NO customer service and very limited support documentation. For this reason I would not buy another HP device. Too frustrating, too much wasted time.

They did not have my full address but i had missed their calls and did not know. It could have been resolved with a simple text or email. In the end the printer came but this is actually an older model. I did not realise it came with a fax function. it is so 90s, i think HP should have retired this model with a newer one. My printer is faulty and does not seem to print all the print jobs - especially the full colour ones. It takes a long time. I really regreted buying this printer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by New hp user from HP mfp178nw Item had minor printing quality fault. HP was helpful to rectified it and delivered another printer to me. However, this second set came in a cheaper box, and its dusty inside especially the scan flat bed (fyi without cartridges & power cord as I will have to reuse the old set). So i believe this second set is a refurbished set.

Answered all the queries I wanted to know and delivery was a breeze through the CNY holidays. This is my first laserjet printer and I’m pleased with the printing result. However one issue that I tried to resolve with the the tech team but the problem keep coming back again - once I switched on the printer and if I do not print anything within a minute, the printer goes into offline mode. I could not connect the printer with my phone or laptop although all devices are using the same WIFI network. I have to switch off and on the printer again to print new jobs everything and this has wasted a lot of my time when the printer goes into idle mode everytime. Tried the methods suggessted by Tech Team to deactivate the power saver mode but it’s not working. Quite frustrating for this otherwise all is good.

The print quality is pretty good for the price. The only issue I have is with the paper tray. It's fussy. Would have given 5 stars if it was easier to load paper.

The scanner features are rather sub-par to the my previous better laserjet model. Is there a better HP scanner app where I am able to scan more than 1 page at a time? If yes, pls share cos the current app properties are quite backward looking.

But the quality of the color print, scan and copy is less to be desired. The colors aren't true to original and quality is not sharp. An app on my phone can scan in better quality than this.

Setting up was not difficult and connected via wifi to my home wireless network. Print quality was good and photocopy function useful. However, found the replacement toner cartridge expensive.

While the printing speed is not very fast, both the printing and copying quality are very high. It took a few tries before I was able to set up the wifi printing on the printer but other than this initial challenge, I am very satisfied with this purchase.
