Two men looking at bright large format poster

You’ve watched countless videos and read all the articles you need. You’ve decided that HP Latex is the right choice for your business, but one question remains: which of our models do you choose?

Our experts have answered some of the most common questions we receive on our products to help you make the right decision:

Q: We’re looking to expand our portfolio. Which printer would you recommend?

A: There are a few important things you need to consider.

If you’re looking to print on rigid and flexible media, the HP Latex R printer series is the perfect solution for you. With this printer, you can produce a range of printed products, from outdoor signage and decorative applications to POP and FSDUs–and even applications like short-run packaging or thermoforming.

If you’re looking for a roll-to-roll printer, it’s important to know that all HP Latex roll-to-roll machines (including the HP Latex R printer series) can produce the same applications. You need to consider the right size for you: will a 64in (1.63cm) format work? Or do you need larger rolls?

No matter your needs, consider that HP Latex printers are suitable for multiple print jobs: from traditional outdoor signage, to retail, events and exhibitions, and more specialist applications such as vehicle wrapping or décor.

Q: Printing capacity is our biggest challenge. Which printer can keep up with our pace?

A: If you need industrial production capacity with a 126in (3.2m) printer, the HP Latex 3600 printer is your choice. With a suggested monthly volume of 80,000ft² (8,000m²) per month, it’s the most productive printer in our portfolio. This is closely followed by the HP Latex 1500 printer, which also features a maximum width of 126in (3.2m).

If you want a robust and productive printer in the 64in (1.63m) format, the HP Latex 700 and 800 printer series is the perfect choice. For example, the HP Latex 800 printer is recommended for a suggested monthly volume of 9000ft² (900m²) per month–ideal for supercharging a range of workflows. This recently launched model is up to 30% more productive than its predecessor,1 with speeds of up to 388ft² (36m²) per hour for outdoor prints,2 with 50% more nozzles per printhead for outstanding saturation at high speeds.

Q: We need a highly productive 126in (3.2m) roll-to-roll printer to run 24/7 with maximum uptime. What’s the solution?

A: For robust quality at every speed for dedicated application production, the HP Latex 3600 printer should be your first choice. It can handle production peaks up to 350,000ft²/month with confidence.3 This printing workhorse helps you maximize uptime and overnight printing. Your operator can manage up to four printers at once, minimizing labor costs. Gain efficiencies with automatic maintenance, heavy-duty rolls, and 10-liter HP ink supplies.

Q: I need a printer with white ink. I want the option to print on transparent and colored media for window stickers, vehicle wrapping, and décor.

A: For these applications, you’ll need one of our white ink printer models. These include the HP Latex 700 W printer, HP Latex 800 W printer, HP Latex 2700 W printer, HP Latex 2700 W Plus printer, and HP Latex R printer series with white ink. If you are looking for a hybrid solution to print on rigid and flexible media, the HP Latex R printer series should be your choice. If you want a roll-to-roll printer, the HP Latex 700 W or 800 W large-format printers can give you an advantage when printing on materials like fabrics, window decals, or vehicle wraps.

All these models can unlock the benefits of white ink–without complexity. Our unique automatic recirculation system and printhead cleaning reduce manual purging and help prevent clogs and lets you take advantage of the whitest white HP Latex Inks: high-opacity whites4 that resist yellowing over time.

Q: We’re embracing the benefits of digital connectivity. Which Latex printer is for me?

A: All HP Latex printers come with our HP PrintOS5 digital suite, complete with advanced functionality such as remote monitoring to stay on top of daily projects and make data-driven decisions from virtually anywhere at any time. Gain visibility to your HP connected printers and eliminate repetitive, time-consuming set-up procedures. Backups are automatic, and you can easily restore printer and substrate configurations.

No matter which printer you choose, you’ll get to simplify and automate print production.
