What is the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan?

The HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan is a device protection plan that provides inclusive coverage for your entire gaming setup, no matter the brand. If any of your covered gaming gear breaks, you get fast repair or reimbursement enabling you to keep gaming without worrying about unexpected costs and repairs.

You get:

  • Coverage for multiple gaming devices including desktops, laptops, gaming consoles, monitors, headsets, keyboards, mice, gaming controllers, microphones, webcams, audio mixers and virtual reality headsets
  • Protection against mechanical and electrical breakdown, power surge, and accidental damage
  • Includes failure from overclocking, DIY enhancements and component upgrades
  • Up to $2,000 per claim with up to $5,000 total coverage per year
  • No deductibles or fees when submitting a claim
  • Fast reimbursement or repair

 

This plan is a service contract that is different from a product warranty provided by the manufacturer, meaning it does not extend the term of any manufacturer’s warranty.

Is there a limit on how many of my gaming products are covered by the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan?

No, the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan is designed to be just that. All eligible existing and new products in your household are eligible.

My device is broken now, but I’m not enrolled yet – is that covered?

Sorry, no. Any preexisting damaged devices are not covered under the plan prior to enrollment. 

What types of failures are covered by the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan?

Eligible products are covered for breakdowns (mechanical or electrical failures) caused by defects in materials and workmanship; normal wear and tear or power surge. 

 

Devices are also covered for breakdowns due to unintentional and accidental damage during normal use including drops, spills, and cracked screens and covers resulting lines on the screen, screen discoloration or dimming of the screen.

 

The plan also covers failure due to overclocking.

Does the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan cover Accidental Damage?

How much does the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan cost?

There are two subscription plan options: monthly coverage at $19.99 per month and a yearly option at $199 for 12 months of coverage.

 

Does the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan cover my mobile phone device?

No, the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan does not cover mobile phone devices.

When does coverage start on the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan?

During the first 30 days after enrolling in the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan, you can register all your gaming devices in the  claims portal. Coverage becomes effective on day 31 and remains in place as long as your plan enrollment is active.

Is a plan like the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan worth it?

Yes! The HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan offers protection for all your everyday gaming gear for under $1 a day, making it a cost-effective choice for tech coverage.

When can I purchase the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan to protect my gaming device, hardware or accessory?

Whenever you want! You can add coverage no matter if your device is older or brand new. If you have the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan, it’s automatically covered.

Is loss or theft of a device covered under the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan?

No, the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan does not cover theft or loss of a device.

Is there an age limit for the devices that can be covered?

No limit. All ages of devices are covered under the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan although repair of older devices may not always be possible. If we are unable to repair a device, then we may provide alternative solutions to resolve your claim. Please see Terms and Conditions for complete details.

How long will the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan protect my devices?

The monthly plan allows coverage up to 36 months as long as the subscription fee is paid on or before the payment due date.

 

For the yearly plan, you get 12 months of coverage. The plan will renew for another 12 months up to a total of 36 months as long as the subscription fee is paid before the due date. 

 

You can cancel the monthly or yearly plan at anytime.

Do I need to activate the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan after purchasing the plan?

No, your HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan becomes active immediately from the time you purchase the plan. You can immediately add your eligible gaming products in your home via the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan Claims Portal to avoid delays in the claims process. 

 

Please note there is a 30-day waiting period before you can submit a claim.

Is the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan transferable?

No, the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan cannot be transferred to anyone else.

How does the no lemon guarantee work under the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan?

In the event your device has already been serviced through the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan three times for the same mechanical or electrical failure and a fourth service request is registered for the same issue, you will be entitled to a replacement or a reimbursement for a replacement. 

 

Please note that the no lemon guarantee does not apply in case of failures resulting from accidental damage from handling.

I received a replacement device under the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan. Do I need to purchase a separate protection plan for it?

No. Any device provided to you as a replacement will be automatically covered under your plan as long as your monthly subscription is valid and you continue to make your payments or if it is within the 12 months of coverage on the yearly plan.

How do I make a claim under the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan?

You can file a claim online 24/7 at the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan Claims Portal. Or you can call 866-517-3040 between 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM Eastern Time Monday to Friday or 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM Eastern Time on Saturday and Sunday to start the claims process.

How many claims can I file?

You can file an unlimited number of claims. There is a maximum annual aggregate claim limit of $5,000 and $2,000 maximum per approved claim.

 

The 12-month aggregate limit rolling period begins on the date of your first claim.

How soon after purchasing the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan can I file a claim?

As soon as you purchase the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan, a 30-day waiting period begins. During the waiting period, you can add devices to your plan, but you will not be able to submit any claim requests. After the waiting period ends, you can submit a claim either online through the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan Claims Portal or by calling 866-517-3040 between 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM Eastern Time Monday to Friday or 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM Eastern Time on Saturday and Sunday.

What happens when I submit a claim?

Once you submit a claim, we evaluate the device or accessory and determine whether it’s eligible for repair or will be reimbursed or replaced. You will continue to receive email notifications throughout the process and can track it through the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan Claims Portal or by calling 866-517-3040 between 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM Eastern Time Monday to Friday or 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM Eastern Time on Saturday and Sunday.

Account and Billing

How does the billing work for the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan?

For the monthly plan, you will be billed every 30 days.

For the yearly plan, your pay for a year of coverage and the plan will auto renew at your one-year anniversary.

You can cancel either plan at any time and may be eligible for a refund.

Go to My Services (your HP ID login is required) for more information about your billing date, to change your payment method or to cancel your subscription.

How is the billing date calculated for the HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan?

Monthly Plans:

  • Your payment method on file is automatically charged every 30 days from the purchase date.
  • For example, if you purchase on Jan 13th the next billing date is Feb 12th.

 

Yearly Plans:

  • Your payment method on file is automatically charged every 360 days from the purchase date.
  • For example, if you purchase on Jan 13th, 2024, the next billing date is Jan 8th, 2025.

What happens if I miss the payment for the recurring monthly or yearly plan?

If you miss a payment, we will attempt to rebill up to 3 times. If all rebilling attempts fail, your HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan subscription will be terminated at the end of the current billing cycle. 

 

Coverage will continue for 30 days post termination.  During this 30-day period you will still be eligible to file service requests.

 

How do I cancel my HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan?

You can cancel your plan at any time through My Services (HPID login required).  You can also cancel your plan by calling 866-517-3040. Your plan coverage will continue for 30 days post cancellation.  During this 30-day period you will still be eligible to file service requests.

 

If you are eligible for a refund, you will receive it back to your original payment method within 5-7 business days.

What happens after my plan is cancelled?

In the event your HP Ultimate Gaming Coverage Plan is cancelled after the initial waiting period has expired; your coverage will remain in effect for 30 days beyond the date of cancellation of the plan. During this 30-day period you will still be eligible to file service requests.

 

For the yearly plan, you will receive a pro-rata refund equal to 100% of the unearned portion of the plan fee paid by You, less (i) in CA, CO, DC, IL, ME, NM and WI a $19.90 termination fee; in WA a $25 termination fee; and in NV a $25 termination fee if you cancel from day 31-70 of the subscription (ii) for all remaining states, a $25 termination fee; and (iii) any applicable taxes.

 

You will get a confirmation email that your plan is canceled.

You can easily update your personal information and payment details on the My Services page (your HP ID login is required).
