HP Price Match (before purchase)
At the time of purchase, HP.com will match the current direct‐fulfilled, pre‐tax price for new "Comparable PCs" and identical HP printer, display, and accessory model numbers from any nationally recognized online retailer, such as Dell.com, Lenovo.com, Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, TigerDirect.com, Newegg.com and Staples.com. "Comparable PCs" are defined as desktops and laptops manufactured by Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Samsung and HP which have the same specifications (screen, touch capability, operating system, processor, memory, hard drive, optical drive, graphics cards and all other product features) as an HP PC listed on the HP.com Store.
Please call or chat with us to request a price match and to complete your new purchase. Price match requests cannot be completed via e‐mail. When you call or chat, please tell the sales agent:
- The Comparable PC (manufacturer and detailed specification) or identical HP Printer, display, and accessory model number offered by the specific nationally recognized online retailer.
- The direct fulfilled, pre‐tax price and the steps you took to get to the price.
- The applicable PC, printer, display, or accessory on HP.com.
The HP.com sales agent will review and verify the price match request with you, including determining whether the entity is a nationally recognized on‐line retailer, verifying whether the PC is a Comparable PC or whether the identical HP printer, display, and accessory model number is sold on HP.com, and checking the lower price and the availability of the product on HP.com. Price protection, price matching or price guarantees do not apply to Intra‐day, Daily Deals, in‐store only, or limited‐time promotions.

Does the product model number need to match exactly?
For PCs, no, the product model number does not need to match; however the PC must be a "Comparable PC" as described in these terms: desktops and laptops manufactured by Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Samsung and HP which have the same specifications (screen, touch capability, operating system, processor, memory, hard drive, optical drive, graphics card and all other product features) as an HP PC listed on the HP.com Store.
For HP Printers, displays, and accessories, yes, the product model number does need to match.
Do the specifications have to match exactly?
Yes.
Do I request a Price Match before or after I make a purchase?
Before you purchase.
When does the Price Match Policy not apply?
This Price Match Policy is limited to one price match per item, per guest and does not apply to: prices offered by any person or entity other than nationally recognized on‐line retailers; the online prices of third‐party vendors designated on any nationally recognized on‐line retailers' websites. The Price Match Policy does not apply to membership stores such as Costco and Sam's Club or used equipment sellers such as eBay.
The Price Match Policy does not apply to offers that include additional software, financing, gift cards, bundling of items, free items, pricing errors, mail‐in offers, coupon offers, special discount offers, services, items that are advertised as limited‐time, limited‐quantity, out of stock, open‐box, clearance, refurbished items, used items, trade‐ins, shipping and delivery charges; and credit card offers.
This Price Match Policy applies to sales in the United States only.
What if I have a coupon or special discount for the retailer's site?
Price matching does not apply to designated online retailers' coupon or special discount offers.
Are competitors' services eligible for price matching?
No. Due to the differences in services being performed, HP.com does not match competitors' service prices including, but not limited to, services such as delivery, installation and computer services such as Care Packs.
What if the nationally recognized online retailer does not have the item in stock or has limited quantities of the product?
If the item is out of stock or if the advertisement is a limited quantity item, it is not eligible for price matching. Likewise, if HP.com has a product that is advertised as being limited in quantity it will not be eligible for price matching.
Does HP.com price match "free gift with purchase" offers?
No. HP.com does not price match "free gift with purchase" orders. This includes promotions that offer a free gift card with purchase.
Does HP.com price match offers with financing?
HP.com does not match financing offers. HP.com also does not price match a price that can only be received when using a nationally recognized online retailer's credit card. However, if you buy a product from HP.com and receive a price match, you are still able to apply for our low or no interest financing plans on your original purchase.
Does HP.com match trade‐in value and offers on trade‐in products?
No. HP.com does not match trade‐in value and offers on trade‐in products.
What if I have a coupon or special discount for HP.com?
You can either take advantage of a Price Match price or any coupon or special discount that you have for HP.com, but not both.
HP Price Protection (after purchase)
We want you to have the best products and prices. If we lower the price of the product you purchased, and it's still in stock, and hasn't been discontinued and isn't an exclusion (see below), you may contact customer service within the return and exchange period to request a credit for the difference between the price you paid and the current HP.com selling price. Please provide your order number and the current price for the same product selling on our site so we can verify and assist you. One price protection refund per exact item, per customer, at the current price available to all customers.
- Step 1: Identify the same lower‐priced product that you purchased within the return and exchange period on the HP.com store.
- Step 2: Check our exclusions list (below).
- Step 3: If not excluded, contact HP.com Store customer service and provide the active link, exact product and lower price of the product you purchased from us and your order number. Once confirmed, we will issue your refund after shipment.
Exclusions — Our price protection does not cover:
- Non‐HP branded products.
- Business series products (including Zbook, Elite, Pro, workstations, thin clients and servers).
- Other stores / retailers
- Special promotions are not eligible for price protection including financing offers, bundle offers, free items, pricing errors, mail‐in offers, coupon offers, items that are advertised as limited‐time‐only (doorbusters, Deal of the Day) or limited quantity, out of stock items, clearance items, credit card offers, gift card offers, "Final Sale" items, and items for sale from the week of Thanksgiving through the week following Thanksgiving and during our Presidents Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Green Monday and Red Tag Sales.

I ordered a configurable computer and now the price has dropped, can I get a price protection refund?
Yes, provided that exclusions do not apply to your order and that the configuration is exactly the same. Custom‐built computer specs must match in order to be considered for price protection.
When does the Price Protection Policy not apply?

Once the price drop has been verified, when will I be refunded?
Refunds can only be issued after order shipment. Once issued, you will receive email notification, and the refund will reflect on your payment account in 3 to 5 business days depending on the processing time of your bank.
I saw another price drop, can I request another price protection refund?
No, price protection refunds are limited to one per item per customer.
HP reserves the right to cancel or amend these terms at any time, and to verify all information regarding the competing offer and to refuse to offer a price match, if in its sole discretion, HP is unable to verify the competing price offer. This Price Match Policy is subject to change without notice. This Price Match Policy is only applicable at the time of purchase of an HP PC or HP printer; HP will not match prices after a purchase has been made if a customer has subsequently found a lower applicable price. All other terms and conditions of a purchase from HP apply.
