What is this for? How do I know if I need a new drum?
It would depend on the LaserJet model you have. Most of the HP LaserJet models have a combination drum/toner cartridge and you would be replacing the drum when you replace the toner. The ones that have a separate drum from toner, you have to attach the drum to each toner cartridge, and will it fill up with used toner, the printer will indicate that the drum needs to replaced instead of the toner.

Thank you for your question! Please resubmit this question with your printer model number so it can be determined if your printer needs a drum. When the drum wears out, you'll begin seeing lines or faults repeated across the page. Replace the drum unit when you get white lines on your pages

Does this imaging drum include the 4 toner colors/cartridges or is this something else? My pages have white streaks/lines running continuous down the page, but the printer says very low toner. How do I know whether to replace toner, drum or both?
