A really good monitor, especially for the money
I purchased these to replace a pair of HP M27h monitors. The difference between the image quality was night and day. Although these don't have tons higher resolution than the M27h monitors, the improvement was striking, particularly with text.
These are really good monitors, but don't be fooled by what appears to be aluminum on the back of the monitor. It's just plastic molded to look like aluminum.

Happy that I bought two
This monitor provides the "real estate" to allow more room for my photo-editing program to work with. The "buttons" on the back of the monitor let me fine-tune the screen so that the image on the screen matches my printouts.

Solid, not great
I purchased this monitor because I have an HP Z24n at work and really, really like it and I need to refresh my monitor for my home. This one is okay. For the price the resolution is great. The extra real estate for text is a boon! The letters are crisp and easy to read. However, there is something off about the color to me. The whites aren't crisp. It kind of reminds me of dirty dish water. I've tried numerous settings and calibrations and can't resolve this issue. The color on the Z24n was some of the best that I ever used, and I was hoping that this was going to be like that. Sadly it wasn't. It's a solid monitor, and I like, but by no means do I love it. When I upgrade this for with a 4k I will definitely try it before I buy it.

Had issues at first getting it connected to laptop and able to get right resolutions with docking station, but using HDMI cords seemed to help get resolution issues fixed and good to go, great monitors sturdy and good buy. Wish the frame wasn't quite as big.

Monitor died after 2 months, replacement yet . Called support on Oct14.,no result. Called Oct20!!!
The monitor worked perfectly for a couple of months, then it suddenly stopped working and was totally dead. I returned it to the HP support service. They have received it and promised to send a new replacement. It has been 4 weeks and I have not yet received the promised replacement.
Hopefully it will come soon. Luckily, I have alternate equipment I can use in the meantime.

What is the difference between the 27" mq model and the 27" mq Gaming model
Thank you for your question! We are unable to find a 27"MQ Gaming monitor by HP but we were able to do a comparison with the HP X27QV QHD gaming monitor. That gaming monitor and gaming monitors in general will have a better contrast ratio of almost 3 to 1 and a better response time as well. This will help with screen "ghosting" when objects are in motion during gameplay.
