Not good but expected for the low cost
The touchscreen is very responsive though useless as a feature for the laptop due to it not being foldable. Additionally, the laptop simply cannot handle running more than a few open tabs or apps at a time without slowing down to a halt. Even fresg out the box, the screen would freeze on the window I was on and I would have to restart the computer sometimes more than once just to get it to go back to normal. Since it chrome os you can't download any games worthwhile even with steam beta, and regardless the laptop just doesn't have the processing power to do much in thr first place. I can do basic tasks like sending emails and using Google Docs which is the bare minimum, but even doing that puts strain in the laptop. The only pro I have for this is the battery life as the laptop lasts all day and has a counter to show when it will run out battery.

This time, an HP laptop
"Oh, no," I thought, as I looked at three Chronebook laptops, too aged to serve me. I grasp the technology, but hated the prospect of buying yet another computer. I decided on an HP Chromebook 14a. I'm glad I did because it has most features I need. It's fast on and easy to use. I wish it had more older USB ports, but it doesn't, and I have adopted. Hopefully, this will last three or four years until the next generation pushes me deeper into technology.

Great price, great product
Great deal. I needed something small and light just for basic internet browsing and occasional streaming, as well as weekly Zoom meetings. This fit the bill. I can plug in my headset or use the speakers/mic on the device, there are enough USB-A and USB-C plugs for my accessories. Turns on quickly. Exactly what I needed.

Trackpad is just aweful
The touchpad is the weak point. But no matter what you do with a Chromebook, you're going to use the touchpad constantly, so this really just kills it.
It's laggy and inconsistent. Smoothly slide your finger across it and the cursor moves in jerks and starts. Stop moving and the cursor keeps going for a bit. Just trying to click a small button can be infuriating as the cursor slides around like it's on ice.
And no, it's not trackpad speed too high or trackpad acceleration being on.

I love this new Chromebook. I bought it to replace my old one that I bought back in 2012. My old one was a HP 14” 2012 model and finally just stopped working. It needed a new battery and screen. Repairing it was going to cost the same price as buying this new model. I love it. Works just as perfectly as my old one. I’m really enjoying the touch screen. HP chromebooks are the way to go for sure. Hopefully I’ll get 10 strong years of use out of this one as well!

It would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a would be user of this printer to set it up. It cost me three days of effort and $1k worth of online help for it to print from only one of my two hp computers.

Unhappy with Product.
Unfortunately, the HP Chromebook -14a-na001nr had to be returned. The camera and video feature was so bad it was unusable for zoom. Before returning it, I did try tech support to correct the issue without success. My 5 year old HP Chromebook was far better than the 3 newer HP Chromebook's I recently tried. After 3 failed attempts to replace my older chromebook with a decent current HP Chromebook, I decided to try a different brand and not HP for Chromebook.

Good for the price
Good for the price. This is an upgrade from the cheapest model, with a larger screen size, touchscreen, and better quality picture. It allows for multiple profiles managed via Google account. The Chromebook shows up as a managed device in Family Link, but so far we don't see a way to set the time limit higher for Chromebook specifically, which we use for school, as opposed to phones and entertainment devices. These are all fitting our needs well and remained at a low price point.

Hate everything about this lapto
The only thing I can say about this laptop is it has a backlit keyboard. Otherwise, biggest piece of crap I’ve ever tried to use. Do not buy a Chromebook if you are needing a serious laptop for writing papers and such for school.

Perfect computer
I am 72 years old and do not require all that a PC does any more. The HPa-na0013wm was perfect for me. Limited storage never. I got a 64gb emmc drive, a 256gb sd drive, and a 2 terabyte cloud drive that was left over from my PC days. Thats plenty of storage for me to have a good time with.
I can see where this computer is fantastic for schools and kids who attend them. What a good device to learn from. HP has got a great mix of goodies on the computer. USB 3.0 A, USB 3.1C, and 1366*768 video. Unless your in to video editing, heavy duty advertising, or just plain high end work, this computer should do nicely for you.
Chromebooks are computers that are going places and HP is a leader and pioneer in making them. So your choice is in good hands. Enjoy your future purchase and have fun. From school to email, and everything in between HP has the Perfect computer for you. Oh and by the way, storage for a year on the Cloud can be found for as little as $20.00 a year for 100gbs. So you don't exactly need the fancy storage I have.

Perfect for my mom
I bought this as a present for my mom. Her vision isn't great, so trying to see the letters on the tablet wasn't easy. She isn't great with electronics, so this chromebook worked out great. We enlarged the icons/print and the keyboard is much easier for her to see. The chromebook operating system is similar to her tablet, so nothing confusing for her. Now I want one!

This HP Chromebook 14a-na1097nr is not compatible with HP Active Stylus Pens. This Chromebook will still be compatible with passive stylus pens. Like the active stylus, you can tap or write directly on a screen with a passive stylus (also called a capacitive stylus). But unlike an active stylus, the passive/capacitive stylus doesn't have touch sensitivity or electronic components. There's no communication between the stylus and the device.
