Overall I like this printer HOWEVER there is one issue I cannot resolve
One problem. The printer driver came automatically set to duplex printing. I cannot find a way to turn this off. I usually do NOT want to print duplex, I want to print a single page at a time. For the rare times when I do want to print duplex, I have (since my initial HP LaserJet printer in 1983 or 1984) simply clicked to "print both sides". I don't care why you did what you did with this printer and its automatic duplex printing. I DO CARE that you tell me how to stop it...please.

Excellent Printer!
This replaces our 8 yr old HP Laserjet Color Printer. Setup was easy; all the devices from laptops to cell phones found the printer. Print quality is excellent and wake up time is reasonable. I was anxious to see if it’d drop off the network after hours of non- use. It doesn’t. I would recommend this printer for a small business, professional work from home or a friend who wants a quality printer.

Printer & Quality is great
We use this printer for colored labels. Mainly black on white gloss labels. We have had it for approximately one month and have not had any issues. We had to use adobe PDF X to get the quality we were looking for.

Best Printer I have ever owned!!
WOW I have never owned a printer with this kind of power before!! And I swear it has endless capabilities, you could entertain yourself for hours just trying all of the features! Bright colors, great prints
The quality of the HP Color LaserJet Pro 4201dn is excellent. The text is crisp and clear and the printer speed is quick both when first starting and when running the print job, and it’s amazingly quiet. The colors are vibrant, and presentations look impressive. I love the fact that I can do double-sided printing. It was very easy to set up – I didn’t have any issues. It connected to the network without problems and the kids are able to print easily from their laptops. I don’t have to worry about wasting ink to clean the printheads, the printer just works when I need it to. I would definitely recommend this printer to friends and family.

Great for WFH
I print out a ton of paperwork for my job and this printer has been absolutely amazing at handling my work flow. The prints are vibrant and clear. It prints extremely fast in both color and Black. For a laser printer the toner is very affordable and worth the cost. My only issue is it is not wireless, and as I share the printer with my wife who also works from home, we did have to set it in our living room to keep it connected to the network.

Great for the home or the office
I recently got the HP Color LaserJet Pro 4201dn for my home projects, and it’s been a game-changer for printing labels, color cards, and other small projects. Switching paper types is a breeze, which is super important when I’m juggling different tasks. The print quality, especially the colors, come out sharp and vibrant, which really makes my projects pop.
In terms of cost, I feel like I’m getting a good deal. The cost per print seems lower compared to other printers I’ve looked at, which means I can do more printing without worrying too much about my wallet.
However, while I love the printer, I’ve had my share of frustrations with the HP Smart app. It can be clunky and sometimes complicates things more than it helps. But once you get past the app, the printer itself is fantastic. It fits perfectly into my home office setup and handles everything I throw at it with ease.

Excellent family and WFH printer
This printer replaced a 15+ year old printer that we thought worked great. There is a day and night difference using this new HP printer. It is so fast and the quality is amazing. We use it for both home and work. Our kids have loved printing things in color - it is a plus that the documents come out so quickly so our little kids don’t have to wait.

I really like this printer and the print quality. It is compact and very user friendly. I love how quickly it prints documents. At first I was a little hesitant about purchasing this as we had a functional one already but it really changed my mind as the prints are so clear and the colours are really pigmented. My only issue is that the default settings for the printer on my phone are used instead of my preferred settings but I don't have that issue on my laptop. Overall I would definitely recommend this printer to anyone for their personal use.

The best print quality.
The printer left me completely perplexed with the quality and speed of the print, it delivers professional quality and colors, a print with clear minimum details. It also features fast two-sided printing. The app is super, easy to use and full of quick editing and printing possibilities, I really love using it. The only point I didn't like was that the connection is not Wi-Fi and it doesn't scan on the printer but this is easily done in the app.

Works Every Time
We go long periods without printing in our house. Because of that, we often need to reboot printers that won't wake up. This printer doesn't have that problem! When we click the 'print' button, it always wakes up and prints. The quality and speed are excellent.
Physically setting up the printer was simple, once we got a long enough ethernet cable. Our computers also were able to add it easily.
The only two downsides I see are the lack of wi-fi and the printer randomly waking up. Once or twice a day, the printer wakes up, makes sounds like it's going to print, but doesn't and goes back to sleep. But those are small prices to pay for a printer that always works.

Fantastic home office printer but…
This printer is a great find: it's fast, accurate, and super quiet. Plus, its compact size makes it perfect for smaller surfaces. It's ideal for a home office or small business, handling almost everything you could need.
The only snag we hit was getting it online. We didn't think to check if it was WiFi-compatible since most things are these days, but this one only works with Ethernet. Setting it up took a bit longer than expected, but luckily, we had a cable port in the office. Once we got it connected though it worked like a charm!

Solid color laser printer for home office use!
This is my second HP printer and my first HP color laser printer. My other printer is an HP color inkjet printer. This printer is a little on the heavier side, so it would take some time to take out of the box, but it comes ready to go. I was surprised to see that the toners were pre-installed, and all the printer needed was papers and the power connection. Even though the printer is heavy, it has a very small footprint, and once you set it, you’re pretty much done. I chose not to update the printer as I wanted to be able to use 3rd party toners, and I wish that HP didn’t focus too much on the toner subscription and forced users to do updates often. I understand the security aspect behind it, but this is just overkill. For home office and small business users, this printer would be the perfect option. For print jobs that need to be quick and long, this printer fares much better than its inkjet counterparts. I’m glad that I got this!

This thing is a workhorse. It's quick and acurate. Network integration was simple with one ethernet cord. once attached to the network everything could see the printer with minimal setup from my iphone to my pc in another room. It does everything well from color to both side printing. The secondary feed draw is great and feeds wonderfuly. This will be a solid part of my office for years to come.

Excellent Printer
We are brand new owners of a small consulting business and this printer is really great for our needs. It's a huge step up from our old inkjets, works lightning fast and we get a quality print every single time. No more printer telling us "I won't print your black and white job because I'm out of magenta!"
The one small thing that was annoying to me was that it does NOT come wi-fi ready, and you'll have to procure and use an adapter to use without being hardwired. We had one laying around, so it was no big deal, but that could be a huge annoyance to someone wanting to set up and go right away and finding a missing part.
We like to print from all sorts of devices including phones, and the printer has oodles of options to choose from. It has easy to find and use trays, and in a month of using it, I haven't had a single jam or botched job. I'm very impressed by it.
The single touch and press wheel to get to all the menus is nice, makes the printer look streamlined and neat.
It's a great printer and I anticipate it lasting and serving our needs for a long time.

This printer is good for a home office or small business. The print quality is great even for color documents. The printer is quiet and doesn’t take up a lot of small. We did have a difficult time connecting the printer to the internet, because we believed the printer had a wireless internet adapter, it doesn’t. You will have to use a wireless adapter or an Ethernet cord to connect the printer to the internet. Also, we wish we had selected a printer with touchscreen capabilities.

Product great, HP... not so much
So this is a tough one for me. This printer is great, it's fast, it's reliable, it's efficient. It has two trays so I can easily set printing to each tray based on what I'm printing (envelopes, paper, etc). The problem though, comes to the HP Smart driver / HP Smart Universal Driver. This driver forces you to use a HP Smart printer configuration tool instead of the normal Windows one. This tool is absolute junk. You set preferences and save it, then the HP App just decides "NOPE, we're going to undo that and make automatic adjustments based on what we think is best." There is a default Windows IPP driver that works just fine though, so if you do go this route, avoid the HP drivers at all cost if you have specific printing configuration requirements. But if you're just using this to print normal paper, it's not an issue.
Besides the driver issue, the actual printer itself is great. I thoroughly enjoy the speed of a laserjet compared to an inkjet. The double-sided printing is great also.
For my small business, this printer meets all of our needs and expectations. Definitely worth the buy if you're looking for something reliable.

Love it....except
I am overall very happy with this printer. It prints really well and the colors are nice and vibrant. It has upped my crafting game with the quality of the images over my inkjet printer. It prints quickly and takes no time to print large amounts. My only complaint is that it is not wifi compatible and as my router is in another room, I did have to purchase an adapter to set it up in my home office.

Excellent high quality prints
I have been very happy using my HP Color LaserJet Pro 4201dn. It prints really well - very clearly - and isn't too loud when printing. The footprint is a little large but that is expected for a LaserJet vs an InkJet. Setup was very easy. The graphics come put clean and bright, the text is sharp. Both printing speed and warm up are very quick. The price is very affordable for a Color LaserJet. I don't have to worry about the toner drying out or clogging up. I just can't say enough about how nice the prints were - whether it was a graphic or text - definitely better than my old printer. It even does photos well. I would definitely recommend this printer to friends and family.

Solid Quality Printer Just Shy of Excellence
I recently purchased the HP Color LaserJet Pro 4201dn for use in my home office. The 4201dn is a color laser printer from HP with a stylish design.
Setting up the printer was a simple process. It is heavy but still fits on my desk. It only took a few simple steps to be ready to print. The biggest issue was finding a cable to connect to my router. I knew this was not a wireless printer going into the purchase but discovered it to be a little more of an inconvenience than I had anticipated.
The single control knob is my only real gripe about the design. Itis functional but provides no tactile feedback when you turn the dial. The result is a somewhat sloppy feel in how it rotates. I don’t plan to use this knob often, so it is not a deal breaker. The display is a simple dot-matrix affair which is serviceable.
Finding the printer on my network and sending it my first job was effortless. It was quickly discovered by both my work and personal computers, and I was able to print within a minute of getting connected.
The printer warm up time is very brief. I expected it to take a minute or two get ready to print, but I it took less time than my ink jet to initiate a page.
The print speed is terrific. I was thoroughly impressed with how fast the page went from the initial mechanical churn to dispensing a finished product. It is much faster than my ink jet. The volume of sound produced by this printer is also significantly lower than the old ink jet. I used to have to pull the chord when my wife began a job while I was on a call in the office—not so with the 4201dn; it is quiet and fast.
Regarding the quality of the print, this was the shining star for me. Using regular paper, the difference in quality is night and day. The details and color displayed on the 4201dn was rich and well defined while the ink jet lacked significant details and definition. The printer supports a wide variety of paper types too, including glossy, and would go so far as to consider this printer for framed photos.
Between the general looks, speed and volume of prints, and the excellent print quality I recommend this printer. However, please know that the toner cartridges are very expensive, and you may find the per page print cost to be far higher than a tankless ink jet option. I’m pleased with a medium quality workhorse (my ink jet) to handle most jobs with the laser jet handling higher quality prints as needed.

Needs 1 Thing
This printer arrived quickly and was easy to set up. It is not wifi capable though, which is disappointing. For such a costly printer, it should be. So I had to get another mesh wifi port as the printer is located in a different room than my workstation. This printer is significantly larger and much heavier than my B and W laser jet but it works perfectly and prints clear, crisp images. The turning knob seems a bit archaic for today but it's easy enough to use and gets the job done. This printer has already come in handy for my work-related print jobs and a few school projects my kids have had. I would recommend this printer if you can connect your computer directly to this printer or connect via ethernet cable to your home network. This printer will take up quite a bit of space, so be mindful of that when deciding.

HP has done it again! This color printer has far exceeded my expectations. The print quality looks like we had our color brochures custom made! High Performance Printer
After having using the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301fdn for over a week and having everyone in the office try to print at least a few different types of documents, we are pleased to say that this is definitely a product that lives up to its advertisements. This model is completely new to us and set up was surprisingly easy once we plugged into our network. It prints and scans really fast and the quality of the prints themselves were perfect for our needs. Although we have not needed extra ink as of yet, there is also the offer for free ink from HP. Overall we are really happy to have received this printer and it works really well for our small business.

Good for Laserjet and Color Printing
I was in the market for a laserjet printer since I print so often working from home but also use color printing when necessary and for personal creative projects. What I like about the printer is how quiet and fast the printing is, how it has 2-sided printing, and the size of the laserjet is perfect for a small office and provides quality printed professional documents. It’s almost perfect, however the downside is it is not wireless and requires an ethernet/usb connection and the menu navigation is not user-friendly. I had a bit of trouble connecting it to the ethernet, but had to reset my router for it to be recognized. I really don’t like using the dial for the menu navigation as it is difficult and time consuming to use, especially if you have to type something such as connecting it to the network, or logging in as an admin or user. I also wish it didn’t log out every time. I know it is a safety feature but logging back in is such a hassle with the dial. When you type sometimes it doesn’t register that you clicked the character or it slides to the next character and selects it, then you have to navigate all the way back to the backspace and then back to the letter, hoping it doesn’t happen again. If the printer had wireless connection and a touchscreen menu, it would get five stars. But it serves its purpose well otherwise.

Great printer
I was pleasantly surprised when I received this printer. It unboxed easily and setup was a breeze, I really like having the blue front panel as it makes it look even better, it's nice having a printer that is not all one color. After checking it over, I noticed how easy it is to change toner cartridges, pull the tray, and lift out the used toner. Connecting it to my home network was simple and quick. The only thing that took a few moments to get used to was the settings knob, but once you get it, operation is smooth. Printing is quick and looks great. Having a printer with auto-duplex is so convenient and conserves paper to boot. If all you need is a color printer and not a multifunction device, you should consider this printer.

Reliable Performance for Office Environments
Delivers impressive print quality in both black-and-white and color prints. Text is sharp, colors are accurate, and there's consistency across different document types, including text, graphics, and photos.
This printer boasts fast printing speeds, with both black and colored pages printing at up to 35 pages per minute (ppm). This meets my expectations, especially when compared to entry-level laser printers starting at around 20 ppm.
While the printer lacks built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, it can connect via Ethernet or USB. Setting it up via USB was straightforward and hassle-free, although Wi-Fi connectivity would have been a convenient addition for my home office setup.
The printer's trays (Tray 1 and Tray 2) accommodate various paper sizes, including legal, and support duplex printing. Tray 2's 250-sheet capacity (20lb paper) is adequate for most office needs, and the optional Tray 3 can add an additional 550-sheet capacity.
The control panel, operated via a dial, provides access to the printer's menu and settings. While functional, entering passwords can feel cumbersome without a conventional keypad. The screen quality is basic but functional, offering easy navigation.

A proven race horse
I’m the owner of a small sword fighting/ martial arts school. We do a fair amount of printing for promotions. A good color printer is essential to our success. For the last ten years we have used a HP Color Laser Jet CP1518ni. It has been an excellent partner in our endeavors. The best suitable upgrade appears to be the new HP Laser Jet Pro 4201dn. It’s full color capability and high speed printing (@ 35PPM) it is exactly what we need. Installation was as easy as plugging in the USB cord and performing the guided setup on the 2.7” screen by running through a few menus. The one challenge presented was that the scroll button/knob doesn’t seem secure and sturdy. The best feature of this printer for me is that the toner cartridges are reasonably priced and produce thousands of copies per cartridge. This printer is one of the best values out there today. I’m looking forward to many years of service.

Works extremely well
I love that the HP Color Laser Jet Pro is quiet and works effectively. It produces fast but professional quality looking prints. The quality of the color prints specifically when printing pictures of real people looks so crisp and good. It looks like an actual photograph print. Not to mention overall the printer is quiet.

Awesome Printer
This printer has been a great addition to our home office. We print documents for work, personal use, and even our daughter prints out fun activity sheets. It prints very fast, so we never wait long. I love the 2 sided printing as well since it saves us money on paper. Connecting it to the internet was fast and easy, plus we can print right from our phones - such a nice feature. The colors and details of every printed document are fantastic. We get beautiful pictures and pristine outlines. Even our friends have commented on items we have printed out.

Finally a printer that just works
I really like this printer. For some reason, it seems like I have always been plagued with printer problems. Either the ink dried up or it didn’t print well or it just flat out broke. I just wanted something simple. Send the print job, it prints, done. I’ve finally found it. I’ve been using this printer a couple weeks and it’s been flawless. It’s so simple and it just works! The app is also simple and easy to navigate. I foresee this printer lasting years for me. Seems very well made and looks modern and professional. I would definitely recommend. I’m a heavy home user but believe it would be just as good in an office. So happy!

A Great Replacement for Inkjet and Laser Printer
I recently replaced my old setup of an all-in-one inkjet printer and a separate black and white laser printer with this HP printer. I mainly print documents with occasional color printing, and I scan using my phone so I wasn't looking for a scanner function in the new printer.
Easy Setup, Almost - Unboxing and initial setup were a breeze. The printer itself is a bit heavy, but getting it ready to go was quick. I plugged it in, answered a few setup questions, and downloaded the app. However, I missed a crucial detail: this HP printer requires a wired ethernet connection to set up with the app. After a quick trip to the store for a cable, I was back on track. Once I connected the cable, the app found the printer immediately and I was ready to print.
This HP printer is a speed demon! It handles both documents and photos with ease, and the double-sided printing is equally fast. Even when using duplex printing, the speed is impressive. The documents are crisp and sharp, and even photos look good on this machine.
For a color laser printer, this HP model has a surprisingly small footprint. It won't take up a ton of space on your desk. It also has a handy bypass tray that lets you print on specialty papers, which is a feature I might use in the future.
Overall, a Great Choice. This HP printer is a great replacement for my old inkjet and laser printer combo. It's fast, produces high-quality prints, and has a small footprint. The only hiccup during setup was the requirement for a wired ethernet connection, but once I had that, the app setup was quick and easy. If you're looking for a fast and versatile color laser printer for home or office use, this HP model is a great option.

Great Home Office Color Printer
Right out of the box the 4201dn seemed like a great product. It was packaged very well and had a quick start guide as the first thing you found in the box. The printer is comparatively large, but the advertised dimensions were correct so it fit perfectly in the space I had allocated. Setup was extremely fast and easy, including the hard wired connection to a WiFi network to allow multiple users to print from anywhere on the same network. The printer is pretty quiet and prints very quickly in B&W as well as the ability to print on both sides which I did not have previously. Overall this seems to be a good value and solid printer for an office or home office setup.

Feature Rich
Printers these days are unnecessarily complex and need a thousand different drivers and don't work across computers and phones. Enter the HP Color LaserJet Pro 4201DN. It's simple and these days why pay extra for fax when you just need a solid printer? I opted for this model over the FDN for that reason. Color should always be in toner especially when printing large reports because ink runs out too quickly. Overall the initial setup was easy and I got it onto my network quickly and installed on my server via network. Then I was able to print to it from my phone via the same server and that gave me nice colorful pages.
Packaging wise its very compact considering it has 4 toner cartridges. The screen is easy enough to use and I like the splash of blue on the front. Pages come out quick with no smudges and so far I've printed over 100 pages with no jams.

Crisp and fast
The HP LaserJet Pro4201 is a quality printer. It is very easy to set up and instructions are easy to follow. It comes ready to plug into your network via ethernet cable or computer with USB. As an inkjet user in my home office, I needed to take the leap and purchase a quality desktop laser printer. The quality of the print is crisp and clean. It prints quickly so no long waits for large print jobs. The toner cartridges are easy to locate and replace. I love that the toner comes in individual cartridges saving money on just replacing what you need. Great product.
