Printing for small office from
Get Another Printer Instead
The Wifi connection was often lost, even though the computer was in the same room. It also had trouble printing from PDF files. An error message would appear on the printer and fail to print the PDF.
Save yourself the trouble and get another laser printer. This one was just too much trouble.

Can't set up printer to be able to use.
Touched the right arrow key instead of ok when the english language was visible and could not get it to go back to the english language to complete set up. Have not been able to use printer.

This printer is terrible
When I purchased the printer, the customer service agent said that the printer didn't auto feed.
He never mentioned that it doesn't print on both side of the paper.
Terrible! Why would you even make a printer like that. How can I return it?

Printer seems like it would be nice if it works! Unfortunately, getting it to function on a dual band router is very difficult. Strange that the software can't handle this in 2023, but I guess that's the case.

Great Color Laserjet all in one printer and having a smaller ffootprint is a bonus for a home or for a small office . The features like having Ethernet port, Wireless, and USB gives the owner a choice of setup networking options. Plus many more options of the larger size printers.

Good for a name brand budget laser jet.
Only had it a week. Prints nice. Not a fan of the setup process (just give me a disk/thumb drive). Scan software is lacking (can't do multi-page pdf at 600 dpi). Came with toner cartridges.

Difficult return was unnecessary
The printer arrived in a box that was wet. When I started to open it the inside was even more wet. I did not remove the printer or anything else from the box. I just closed it again and taped it. Since it is an electronic component I did not think this was a good thing. I called hp customer service to get a return label. They said that I would have to speak to a specialist. The specialist would call me in two to three business days. One never called. A week or more later I received an email with a return label. This was after three calls to hp. This is what I consider bad customer service, an unnecessarily complicated process.

Problems setting up printer
Not too happy with the printer. It is not very user friendly - programming is on a touch screen, but user manual is in Spanish, and I don't speak Spanish. I also have problems connecting the printer to my CT6 Ethernet cable to allow printer to work of ethernet rather than wireless. Large PDF Files do not print over wireless.

Think twice about this purchase
I don’t understand why 5x7 photo paper is no longer an option but HP support is no help at all. The printer performs well as a desktop printer but I have yet to try scanner or copy functions. Printing photos wirelessly from a phone has also proven challenging. I have spent 10 hours to print six 4x6 photos from a phone using HP software including installation and setup.

Don't buy refurbished, buy New!
My refurbished printer came with 3 out of the 4 toner cartridges empty. It cost more than $200 to buy new cartridges to fix the printer. It took a long time to understand tge error message on the printer.

The M182 arrived with the scanner not working and the red color for the toner not working. After removing and replacing the toner barrels the red toner started working and the color printing is acceptable. The scanner appears to be jammed and the scanner head does not move. I have reached out HP by email and have had no response. I am really disappointed in the customer service as well as the product.

Network Problems
Printer has trouble networking with Mac computers. I had it online for about a week and it stopped working. Have been unable to get in back online after reviewing materials/tutorials online and through he chat assistant. There doesn't seem to be a way to reset the printer to its default settings and start anew. This is the second HP printer I've had that didn't network well with Macs. I swore off of them the last time I bought one, but that was 10 years ago. I thought for sure they'd have figured it out over the last decade. Ugh.

Misses the mark on some important features
The installation of the software has not gone well.
As best as I can see, it requires physical touch to “wake up” which is a hassle when it is upstairs and I am downstairs.

It’s not working properly, I ran you diagnostic app, it says I need on line help, have been unable to access a human fir in line help. I would trade in for upgrade that may work, but this a new purchase!

Great printer for home use.
If you just need simple scanning and printing with laserjet quality and number of pages per minute, this is the best printer I ever had. No more ink drying out, and the cartridges will last me forever. Simple to install and setup. Has wifi and a web interface. Highly recommended.

Overall this is a nice simple color laser printer and is working well so far. Would have given 5 stars, but sometimes takes a while to connect thru the wifi, and the software for scanning does not hold settings, like if you pick 'document' instead of 'photo', next scan it reverts back to 'photo'.

It works!
I was pretty worried about doing the set-up for the printer as this is the first laser printer I have bought. It went pretty easy even with a little bumbling around. So far the printer has preformed as I expected. So glad to not have to worry about dried up ink! I'm looking forward to many years of printing bliss!

Solid home printer
Solid printer for home use. I really couldn't take the ink cartridges anymore. Toner lasts so much longer while just sitting there waiting to be used, not getting dried out. I set it up wireless in minutes, works flawlessly for scanning and printing even with my Macbook.

Good printer, easy to setup, but......
I wanted a hassle-free printer for my elderly parents. It was easy to setup and now they can easily print from any device in the house. However, since buying it, I have researched printer cartridges for it and am completely taken aback. It costs almost as much as the printer itself for a new set. This is ridiculous IMHO. I'm not in favor of trying to beat the "system" as they have the OEM HP cartridges locked down by a chip you have to try and remove and install on any new third party cartridge in order to use them. Even if you could get it to work, there's drawbacks in functionality in doing so. I don't mind paying more for genuine HP cartridges, but I cannot imagine why HP has to charge such exorbitant prices for them -- a new set is definitely over $200 and can be upwards to $300. Definitely not in line with what anyone would expect them to cost. Buyer beware.

We would only use this printer about 10 to 20 sheets a month, will there be any issues with the printer or toners with low usage, e.g. not printing properly or toners getting clogged up.
