I need to connect my 15 pin vga plug to new docking station m85546.  What is the correct cable

Asked by: Cmyers910
It is unclear what is being asked. Which docking station are you using, what ports does the docking station have, and does your existing display have an HDMI port? As VGA is an old technology there may not be a way of connecting your VGA monitor to a modern device. Please clarify and resubmit and we can assist you.

Hello. Does this adapter support 120hz connection? I mean, can my monitor use its 120hz refresh rate or it is limited to 60 hz only via this adapter? Thanks in advance.

Asked by: Vedad
DVI at max supports 60Hz, so it would be limited to 60Hz because of the conversion.

Can I plug my HP W237d monitor into this adaptor and plug the adaptor into a new pavilion tower?

Asked by: tom24
Thank you for your question, Tom! As this HP DisplayPort to DVI Adapter is only approximately 8 inches in length a cable would be needed. Typically a DVI cable is used with this adapter.

Hello = cam you tell me what cable I need to connect my HP-17 cn0003dx laptop to a montior?

Asked by: LLNO
Hello. Thanks for your question. Your HP laptop does have 1 HDMI port. You can also use a Universal USB Docking Station. You want to be sure the docking station has the video ports, i.e. HDMI, that are on the monitors.

Does the adapter support DisplayPort v1.2?

Asked by: getmoresoon
I do apologize if I did not understand the question correctly, but this is compatible with any DisplayPort output, but will be limited to the DVI throughput which is not as high as DisplayPort. Using adapters can also cause some issues to the formatting. Make sure you are on a display setting that is supported by DVI for the monitor you are trying to connect it to. In most cases, the max DVI resolution will be 1920x1080 @ 60Hz.

re: Does the adapter support DisplayPort v1.2? I want to use the adapter on the DisplayPort out of my HP E24u G5 Monitor for daisy-chain. That port requires a DP v1.2 compatible device to be connected. The DVI monitor gets no signal and remains asleep.
