The laptop being made in China resulted, in a long delivery time. In the future I will buy a product made in the USA.

HP Laptop 17t-cn300, 17.3"
I like using the HP Laptop 17 inch. What I don't like is that the touchpad seems to be too touchy. There are times when you just lightly touch the pad and it changes what you were looking at.

Replaced my 12 year old HP laptop
This pc is whiz-bang, marvelous. So easy to use and everything was included. I'm sure happy with everything about my purchase. From the assistance at the HP website to the constant updates on the shipment, the delivery and the packaging. But the best part was buying the software from HP to transfer all of my files myself. Just top notch all around.

Not happy
Never got it. They shipped it using
FedEx and they lost it. After over a month of getting the run around from FedEx and HP i canceled the order. They can keep it.

nice and fast
Love the speed - fast enough for me. But on the downside, no place for DVD or for an SD card, tho I was aware of the lack ofthe former when I purchased....also, the plug pulls out too easily and it is difficpult to open lid when closed up. But overall, it works well for me.

HP computers are reliable
HP computers have been around for a long time. Only one time I owned a different brand and was not pleased with it. So now I only purchase HP computers. I have had very good experiences with them. Everything from building my own to my specific needs to if I need technical support it has been great. Anyway, if you’re looking for a new computer, check out what HP has to offer.

Terrible purchasing experience!
This laptop is a wonderful piece of equipment! I felt confident ordering from HP since they received an award for sustained excellence, but it sure was not in customer service! Their service leaves a great deal to be desired!!
I did NOT get what I ordered! My neighbor and I searched the ad carefully before ordering because I wanted a touch screen. I did NOT get a touch screen! Furthermore, the ad no longer states that this model has a touch screen. I also ordered the pale rose gold exterior, did not get that either.
Worse of all, I ordered this laptop on September 2nd, it came from China, but it was lost in shipment by UPS in the states. I did not receive my laptop until October 18!
During this interim I talked with HP reps numerous times and they were uniformly helpful and courteous. Why it took so long is unknown. I tw UPS several times, but I could not file the claim for the loss, the sender had to do that. So it was all in the hands of HP.
This was by far the MOST unsatisfactory purchasing experience I've ever had, internet or in person!

Great price.
Gave it 4 stars, because it is exactly what I needed with a great price (on sale). Using the laptop for working remotely (Citrix) and browsing. Having said that 8G of main memory does not cut it. Browsing will use 80% of the 8G memory and some sites were extremely slow. Citrix unusable. Max the memory (Hp only offered up to 16G when I got the laptop) and now with the maxed CPU memory it works like a charm.

Disappointed
Display developed lines after one week. Returned for warrantee service. HP determined it was 'accidental damage' not covered under warrantee. Their quick repair service took 21 days round trip. Trying to contact their customer service was a nightmare. That's the last HP product for me.

Switching to HP
After using a Dell for several years, it became unstable, freezes and with multiple reloads, just wouldn't stay running. I've used HP's before and decided that features don't always make good sense. Returning to HP, the laptop has been great so far, no technical issues to date and although relatively new, I hope it runs solid longer than the 4 years the Dell did.

Great laptop, great speed, great keyboard layout.
Great laptop. It came and was delivered on time and has a great speed and memory. Love the keyboard layout and as the full numeric keypad which is a win. The only thing is if you are used to using the OLED screen this has a slightly reduced screen resolution. But it is still a really great laptop and I am happy with my purchase.

Simply Awful Customer Service
Good luck if you need to talk to a live person, or hoping that someone will call you. Their virtual assistant is dumber as a rock. Her answers have absolutely nothing to do with your questions. The laptop arrived without the power cable, so can’t comment much on how it works. Borrowed a cable from my daughter just to se it up and register it. It looked and felt OK, but look and feel don’t tell you anything about performance.
After about 5 days and hours on the Internet and phone, sent from one phone number/department to another one at least 4-5 times, finally got to the right person. Courteous and professional, he said they would send me the cable, and they did. The next day I received a message from FedEx that the package will be delivered the following day. If I remember correctly was a Saturday, but not sure. I rarely leave the house, so I was at home both days, waiting for the cable, but FedEx never came. Just after noon, received a message from Fedex that they tried to deliver the package for the second time but nobody was at home to sign for it. THAT WAS A LIE! I was at home both days and never left the house even for a minute! It’s not the first time that FedEx does it on weekends. I have 2 awesome security cameras: one installed above the garage, the other on at the door. Both cameras recorded everything both day, including a UPS truck/driver delivering a package 2 minutes before I received the message from FedEx that nobody was home to sign. The moment I received the message I call FedEx to let them know that I was and am at home and need the package. Good luck getting through their robot, too! This was at least 3 weeks ago. Since then tried several times to talk to someone and sent emails, but no luck. Still using my old laptop.
Besides the awful customer service, here is a question: Why would HP ship a power cable requiring a signature at delivery????? I do not, but most of the people work. Should they take a day off to wait for FedEx to deliver a power cable sometime between 9:00 AM and 2:15 PM??? And there is a good chance that it might be delivered late afternoon. Can’t express how frustrated I am!!!

Really only one complaint :-)
When a computer is working fine, you don't notice anything, and overall, this is working fine and smoothly. So here's what I hate: the touchpad, "mouse" buttons. It is all one thing, no separate left or right button, it is all part of the touchpad. This sucks in photoshop when I have to use multiple fingers on one touchpad. I will end up with a separate wireless mouse--which is fine. But if anything specific could be improved, give me a touchpad and 2 seperate buttons.

Nice portable computer
I am not heavy duty user but for me the screen size and overall package are perfect. The screen is bright and sharp. The keyboard with numeric key pad is very nice. I have not had much time to take it through it’s paces but so far I find it to be an excellent value.

A Couple of Improvements
Overall a nice laptop, but it would be nice if there was a slight indentation along the front edge to make it easier to open it. Also, the pad is too sensitive and difficult to maneuver the curser. I purchased a mouse, which is a lot easier and time-saving.

Get ready to replace the Wi-Fi card
Wi-Fi card is the worst in history. If I get more than 15 feet away from my router, the laptop almost doesn’t pick it up. This isn’t an issue with my router as I have TVs in back rooms that are picking up along with all of my smart devices. I had to go buy an extender so it could be more than 15 feet from my router.

Fast
I like the laptop. It starts in just seconds and when I shut it down it's just as quick. The battery doesn't last as long as I hoped, but it does take a few hours of running before I have to plug it in and re-charge the battery. A lot of it depends on how many apps are running in the background. I turned off the ones I don't use much. I use my wireless mouse and keyboard with the laptop and it works great. This is not considered a gaming laptop but it does quite well with the ones I've tried like WoW and Diablo III.

Set me up Spock
Navigating the function for screen lighting, clarity, and colors are difficult. Set up was not plug and play. I thought it was. I had to search the web for help fine tuning or working good. Many pre-sets for connecting to the web, changing the default for apps such as gmail were not easy to locate.
Getting started with this new laptop was much more difficult and time consuming than it was my for my Slim HP with Intel COREi5. The quality of the video is better, it is faster, and easier to maneuver through settings. Not perfect but is much easier than my new laptop.
Im sure someone with more computer skills than me could improve my experience. I like the look and size of the laptop. It is great. The price was very good. Power cord could be another foot longer. Way too many ads. Hard to delete them without going through a lot of delete features. I know that's not necessarily an HP problem but all these problems could be and should be placed into an easy to read and follow instruction guide.
