The 4th time is a charm.
Finally a HP printer that works with my wife's Chromebook. Couldn't get any of three other HP printers to connect using WiFi or USB. Connected this one with USB and running thru Chromebook printer setup, it worked.

Good basic laser printer
The Laserjet Pro is a good printer for a basic printer. The fact that it is not wi fi is a minus as it limits the ability to print from various computers. It prints quickly though and has a clean print as long as you only use laser or copy paper. Since it is a tray or front load paper system it does have problems when using cardstock. I have found that it smears the ink when using heavier paper which is a disappointment as that is one of the things I wanted to use it for. Overall, a good starter laser printer if you don't want to spend a lot of money for a laser printer.

So far, it’s ok
I’m pretty familiar to HP printers but this is my first laserjet. Haven’t figured out how to clear the paper jam or load the first paper tray but I did manage to print some things. I’m also having trouble registering it for the hp instant ink program since the business side needs an extra step. All in All, basic functionality is good but anything more complex has a learning curve

Value Printing King
The HP LaserJet Pro 4001n is a black-and-white only laser printer. It is designed for small businesses and home offices due to the volume of pages this printer is able to output.
It can delivers print speeds up to 42 ppm , with excellent print quality. In my testing, it didn't print as many as HP claimed.
It also has a 350-sheet paper tray and automatic duplex printing for those large scale print jobs.
One downside to this printer is that it lacks Wi-Fi connectivity. This could be a major omission for most people.
If you're in the market for a reliable black-and-white laser printer for your small business or home office, the HP LaserJet Pro 4001n is a viable option. Just keep in mind that it doesn't offer Wi-Fi connectivity and color printing

So FAST!!!
I’ve been using this printer for a couple of days now and it was so easy to use. It took me less than 30 minutes to set up and install the app on my laptop. My wife will be using this for her work as a nurse to print out reports from Home. I’m very impressed with the speed and quality. It’s a great printer for a small work from home office.

Good printer but the toner is expensive
The print quality is very good. The printer prints pages fast. I got Tray 3, 550 sheets of paper as I do alot of printing of real estate data sheets. My only complaint is that the toner catridges are expensive and only print about 7, 500 pages using the HP 148X cartridge. This is approximately three cents per page. I previously had an HP 4200n which lasted 20 years. I was made really solid with mostly metal parts. I doubt this printer, HP 4001n will last anywhere near that long being made of mostly plastic.

Fast and easy to set up
This little printer was quick and easy to set up, the software took a little bit. I thought this was a WiFi printer and I could connect my phone to it but it’s not. It does not come with an Ethernet cable either. This printer is just for a laptop or desktop use only. It’s small enough to sit in a little corner or a stand out of the way. I would recommend it to friends and family etc

Easy breezy super fast
Setting this up with super easy. It came with being cartridges already install. I had to do was plug it in. Connect the internet cord to the back and run the printer cord from the printer to the laptop. The paper tray holds a lot of paper. I printed twenty pages in under a minute. It has some cool things like printables. A lot of diagnostic tools and it seems fairly easy to use.This printer is also compatible with the instant ink program.

The HP laserjet pro 4001dn was pretty much ready out of box for me! I love that it feels like a lightweight and compact printer. It was lighter then I thought it would be! Right away i noticed the instructions were simple and to the point. I use this for printing out coloring sheets and printing coupons. I was printing from my phone as well as my computer. It does say I needed to download an app on my phone as well as things on my computer but at first I didn't. It still let me print right away! The printing is quick but does make a little noise. So it isn't completely silent. However that didn't bother me at all.

Easy, Fast, & Efficient
My primary need for the HP LaserJet Pro 4001dn was for our club swim team. I am a part of our scoring team and we have to print out 6 copies of timer sheets and 40-50 heat sheets for coaches, officials, and staff. If anyone knows what that is like, then you know it's mass chaos and you need things printed fast.
The HP LaserJet Pro 4001dn was a saving grace at our last meet. It was easy to connect and the laptop recognized it right away. We loaded it with paper, and it was good to go. We were printing our sheets in no time at all. It was so nice to not have to do some crazy setup process to get rolling. From a quality and quickness standpoint, I was super impressed with its performance. Everything printed cleanly and was pretty on point with the 40-44 pages per minute. Even the two-sided printing didn't bog things down either. I was really happy with this addition to our team.
I look forward to giving it another workout next week and all throughout the summer. Well done, HP! I definitely recommend the HP LaserJet Pro 4001dn for your quick printing needs. This can definitely help out a classroom, sporting team, or small business.

Great printer
When I found this jumped at the chance they get one. For one I needed a new printer and two I missed my old HP. What I really like is the fact that it prints really fast. Couple that with the great quality of the print jobs this is a great printer. I like that it's small so it fits the home office but it works like the big printers at work. I would recommend this to any one wanting a quality printer l.

Little Good Printer
The HP LaserJet Pro 4001n, comes well packed.
When you look at the printer you realize that it will blend well into any work or home environment.
It prints efficiently in black and white and the interface of the HP mobile app and printer panel is easy to use.
The only thing I didn't like about the printer is that it doesn't have WIFI or Airplay connectivity, so I don't recommend it for use at home, however in an office with Ethernet connectivity it will be very efficient as I could see.
Another thing that seemed strange to me is sometimes there is a paper error in the tray even when it is configured with automatic paper.
In conclusion, very good for office use but for home use I would use another printer with Wifi connectivity and Apple connected

Fast and reliable printer
This is my first laser printer and I am not disappointed. I unboxed, turned on my printer, put paper, plugged in my ethernet cable, downloaded the software to setup the printer and started printing all in about 6 minutes. It was that easy and convenient. I print a lot daily for my small business and this printer does a wonderful job. The double sided printing works great. It's very straightforward. It's a really nice printer that will exceed your expectations.

I was very happy to have been selected to try the HP LaserJEt Pro 4001n for a discounted price. I was in need of a good reliable printer and this one caught my eyes. I am able to print my documents in a timely fashion, I have 0 issues with the printer and I am able to print what I need when I need it. Although it is slightly bulky, it was not heavy at all. The only thing to watch out for is this printer does not come with the usb/ethernet cable.

However it is monochrome only so I will be using the ink printer when I need colors. Great for work documents

It’s been a week now since I received my printer and it works great. I got this printer for my children to print their school assignments and simple work at home. The HP Laserjet Pro 4001dn is a great addition to your home setup. It churns out sharp professional-quality prints quickly, perfect for everything from school projects to personal documents. Setup was a bit tricky as it didn't want to automatically detect the printer right away. When it finally did, the pop-up box disappeared too quickly and didn't come back. I ended up downloading the software directly from HP to get it to install properly. The information about it printing from any device was very vague. I finally found in the pictures online that you can use the "HP Smart" app to print from any device. Needless to say, this did not work when I tried setting up the printer through the app. It didn't detect the printer on my network and also was not listed in the drop down to manually add it (states that the printer cannot be configured with this app). So, that was a bit letdown. The duplex printing feature is a great paper saver. While it's not the quietest, the slight noise is worth the efficiency and reliability. I don't like that the replacement ink cartridges are so expensive due to the proprietary chip that is in them. Overall, it still is a great investment for anyone looking for a high-performing, dependable printer for home use.

I had a older printer that took probably 5 minutes to print something off and this new printer is lighting fast. Setup was pretty easy to do and quick. And it looks great sitting in my dining room. I sell alot of stuff so I mainly need it to print off tables however I print off a variety of things and it works amazing and like I said before extremely fast. The printer is compact, lightweight and easy to unbox. This product is ideal for my home office, and the printing quality and speed was average. The paper trays hold quite a lot of paper. However, I am not impressed with this printer as it took forever to set up wirelessly which was frustrating. The IP address displayed on the control did not match to allow for easy setup. The HP Smart Wizard was of not help whatsoever.
I would have loved if they had included the cables as part of the package with the printer as an option.

Perfect for my needs!
I am a Social Worker who works primarily at home. I've found myself needing to print a lot of documents and realized that I needed something more heavy-duty than my ink jet printer, so I decided to give this one a try. I recieved my printer over a month ago and set it up immediately. It was nicely packaged ensuring it was in perfect condition when it arrived. The instructions for setup were simple and easy to follow. I had the printer setup in less than five minutes. The printer works fantastically with my computer. The only thing I didn't like about it was you can't print wirelessly. I didn't notice it wasn't wireless or blue tooth compatible when I purchased it. I didn't look for it either so it was my fault for sure so the printer still gets five stars.

Why does the printer not wake up from sleep mode? I continually have to press the power button to wake up when I need to print.

Select the Start menu
Open Devices & Printers
Right-click on the printer
Select Printing Preferences
Increase the darkness on the Options screen
