Rated 4 out of 5 by Infinitydld from Little clunky starting but great printing I can say first that I don’t have patience when setting up a new printer because it always seems to take so long and have bugs to solve. But, I am happy with the print quality and speed of this printer. Some things I learned that could help a new setup… Fill the tray with paper, it didn’t like just half full. The paper tray will have a gap the little part on top slides out to meet the edge. Read the instructions carefully to know what to remove or do on each step. Long edge double sides means it prints the same direction as the back and short edge is the opposite direction as the back. Also, my printer did not want to stay connected with WiFi once it kinda went to sleep- not sure why but it was annoying. Prints well and quickly! Enjoy! Update: eventually the printer detected it wasn’t connected and asked a couple questions and restarted, it’s been connected since then with no issues so looks like it fixed itself! Nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MoreMochi from Great all around d printer/scanner This was an amazing printer for the home. My family prints a lot for both personal and work and found this printer to be easy to set up and prints very quickly and clearly. I highly recommend this printer for anyone who scans and prints things often and who loves very color saturated printings. This did a great also printing on cardstock and on labels. Had no problems with it feeding paper and no jams.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MissSeasonB from Perfect for Nursing School HP always makes top notch printers. We've had a our previous one for years. This HP Office Jet Pro is an impressive upgrade. Printing lecture notes and diagrams is a breeze with this machine. The color is rich and this printer is fast! It was super easy to set up and it has been so helpful for school. I definitely recommend this to any college student.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mikala363 from Great All-in-One This printer is amazing! The setup was SO easy! It has a little touch screen that takes you through all the steps and it took maybe 5 minutes. It has scanning, copying, printing, and faxing abilities. I don't have the fax part set up yet but everything else works great. It prints fast and clear. I was a little worried that this printer wouldn't fit where I had my old one but it did. It just looks alot bigger. I love the touch screen and the fact that it can show more information than a traditional printer where the buttons just light up. Overall, really great printer!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by JH2574 from My new printer FIRST IMPRESSION: * The printer looks nice. I especially like the control panel can turn to different angles. * The setup using HP Smart app was pretty easy. * However, I don't know if I received a "defective" product. But I noticed the power cord port is loose (see the enclosed video). USAGE: The printer was functioning well. However, * I found I need to print to "HP Smart Printing" instead of the printer itself to print properly (e.g., printing on both sides of paper, etc.) on Windows 11 computer at first. So I did some research and found the 8130e printer on my computer used something called "Microsoft PWG Raster Class Driver". So I went to https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-officejet-pro-8130e-all-in-one-series/2101388000 and downloaded the "HP Smart Universal Printing Driver for Windows". Then I switched the printer driver to "HP Smart Universal Printing" after installing the package from HP website. Now I can print everything properly by choosing the printer directly without going thru "HP Smart Printing". * unlike my previous HP OfficeJet Pro printer, I could not find the option of scanning from the printer directly to a share location in my local network. CONCLUSION Overall this printer is pretty good. I think people would like it as long as they don't need to scan to a shared network location.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Oilodell from Best printer I have ever used I am so happy with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e printer. I really enjoy that the unit is all-in-one and wireless. The compact size allows me to print, scan, and fax with just one machine. I found the set up extremely easy and user friendly. I highly recommend downloading the HP app. The app has lots of fun templates and I see myself using the app options often. As for printing speed, both color and black-and-white prints were delivered swiftly. Overall I would highly recommend this unit as five stars!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by RT06 from Disappointed in the printer Set up for wireless printing was difficult between the Smart Printer and my internet. I was finally able to manually connect. Print quality is acceptable and the color for pictures was very good. The control is difficult to operate with a person with large fingers. Thank goodness that the panel tilts to allow easier reading for a lower cabinet installation. The screen needs to be larger to allow better readability and operation. It is barely acceptable but I will make it work The output tray is not acceptable. The right hand release button has fallen out 4 times and is not easy to reinstall. I have elected to leave it out and that is working ok, but poor quality here. After I changed paper size for photos, I changed the smart printer on my computer to the new 5x7 size. The printer notified me that I had a paper mismatch. I then adjusted the size on the control panel and tried to reprint. It again notified me that I had a paper mismatch. I pressed the print button on the control and it overcame the notification. This is not right! Overall, I do not recommend this printer. I have had HP printers for 30 years and this is the poorest one of them all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Clint - North Carolina from 8139e should be recalled HP makes some great products and we have had many of them. However, the 8139e is not one of them. The 8139e has been a problem from the beginning. The touch screen very seldom works, and when it does work, the touch screen panel seems to have a mind of its own. I have given up trying to make copies on the 8139e due to the problems with the touch screen, and I use another copier we have for copies. Printing is good when the 8139e is willing to admit it is "connected". Otherwise, it is a problem to deal with a constant "offline" notice. Thankfully, the HP Smart printing system works pretty well. I regret replacing an HP 8030 that we had with the 8139e. Sorry HP - but the 8139e that I have needs to be recalled.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ladybughq from Can't really review the actual running printer, I didn't get to use it because it came broken. Came broken and box torn. It seemed much cheaper in materials than my previous HP that I had had for many many years. Very disappointed, so decided to try a different kind. That has been disappointing too as it has been hard to figure out. So whether one that hadn't arrived broken so that I had to return it, would have been a successful replacement for my one of previous years I don't know. They were good about letting me return it and giving me my money back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MKA Mary A from HP Support While I love the printer, it was difficult to set up through HP Smart. I called HP for help. My first phone call to them was 2 1/2 hours. My second phone call to them was an hour and a half. It should not take that long to set up the scanned email feature. guitar

Rated 5 out of 5 by pickleballfan from love our new printer we bought this printer about a month ago for personal use ( and so far it has been great. The set up was super easy with the app. we already had the HP instant ink program with our previous printer ( which by the way is also wonderful) and switching it to the new computer was one click!! so far we've only used the printing aspect but will soon be trying the scanning option. the print quality has been good and the printer itself is quieter than our old one(also an HP). I would recommend this printer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by spreelax2 from Good product Hard to set up with Mac Product was easy to get started. I have a Mac computer and it was very hard if not impossible to set up the scan portion without help from support( for 45 minutes with support trying to get the scan portion set up). That is a major disadvantage.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Labrette from Mediocre printing - Set up easy The colors are not nearly as bright nor as crisp as I had hoped. As most of my printing is colored pictures, this was not the right printer for me and I will not be able to use it for anything but letter printing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lynn Ac from Prints both sides I actually have an 8135e unit. It was sent to replace 8139e unit that was defective. And it's a refurbished unit. HP did not even send a new unit for warranty replacement. I do like the functions of the printer. It prints on both sides, which is pretty cool. It is very noisy and takes a while to print though. But I believe it is probably worth the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Always loved HP products NOW I DONT...STUCKKKK. I received my printer without a user manual. Can't reach anyone. Thought I could just call in, have them send me a manual & go from there. NOT!! Can't set up my fax module. Once I reached a person and they had me call a # that sent me to an ibot! It didn't understand my d'ilemma. Still unable to fax or receive a fax. Had to spend countless trial & error to scan a document. Always loved HP products in the home & Office, but I always had IT people at work. They knew how to troubleshoot--they went to school to learn this. I didn't!!!. H.P. should be ashamed! "We just sell it--It's on you now."

Rated 2 out of 5 by V. May from HP Officejet Pro 8139e Problems I had problems installing the HP Officejet Pro 8139e printer. After finally getting installed, the Scan to computer wouldn’t work. Made sure I had the right drivers. Didn’t help. Finally was able to get scan option to work. Then when printing, the paper would be kicked back, so every time I started a new print, I would have to open paper tray and slide paper forward. Tried getting support, but was unable to do so. Have fitted wooden block behind paper to keep paper in place. Other than that, it prints one sided and duplex o.k. Color is good.

I have only hp printers for many, many years and I have never been so disappointed in my new printer. It is slow, it is loud, the display is too small and I have to press the copy and scan button many times to get it to work. Shoddy material

Rated 4 out of 5 by Old Radio Guy from Good consistent quality The printer was easy to setup and begin using. The quality of the printing is very good, and I have no complaints about the operation of the machine. I would likely buy it again. This printer was purchased as a backup to another HP printer, as a part of my home office. I will use the two in tandem as needed, with no concerns about print quality or other issues.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JTS2 from just made to sell ink Unhappy with this item. I loved my last HP all in one printer. A workhorse. This uses too much ink, even smeared some when trying to copy an old B&W comic book page. Then informed me I was running out. And I have not done much at all. I have printed nothing in color. Everything seems to be driving more ink sales. And only from HP.

Rated 2 out of 5 by S Colbert from Model 8135 Printer is a Huge Disappointment This printer is a huge disappointment to me. I had used the 8160 for many years and loved its printing ability, speed, ease of operation, and controls. I have enjoyed very few of these features on the 8135 model, which I purchased thinking it was the closest to the 8160. Printing is noticeably slower, the paper does not remain secure in the tray so I often need to push it forward to get the printer to work. My previous printer had a spring loaded device to push the paper forward. Reading the control screen is more difficult as well

Rated 1 out of 5 by TayHart64 from Worst Printer and Tech I thought buying a printer from HP would be a good idea. I was wrong. The 1st printer they sent me did not work at all. I called them to ask for new one, but they said we had to trouble shoot first. Fine. We trouble shoot it and it still did not work. They said they would send me another printer. Fine! It did not come. It took several phone calls and it took weeks before it came. I had a friend install it (he knows about computers) and it print, but could not scan. I thought "Great! At least it can print! But we could not figure out why it would not scan. We called tech support. They did a remote session. It still could not scan, but now it won't print either!!! Now what? Tomorrow I will call and try to get my money back. I do not know if I can get my money back, I regret buying a printer online and I regret buying a HP printer. Buyers beware.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sandra O. from A disappointment in various ways! This printer is not as sturdy as my HP 8610 printer - which I used for eight years. Had I known the screen size was a little over two inches, I would not have bought this one. Tiny screens might work on cell phones, but when the printer is on a waist-high table, it is very difficult to type in codes. The length of my nails keeps me from being able to type in the codes; I tried using a stylus with a foam tip, but the screen did not recognize the touch of the stylus. Problem #2 - I cannot print envelopes yet and haven't had the time to call the tech team for help. #3 - I keep getting notices that the tray is out of paper, or that the wrong size/type of paper is in the tray. It was not out of paper, nor was the paper the incorrect type or size for what I wanted to print. #4 - When I tried printing color pictures from my laptop, only the 1st picture came out okay. The next ones were a blurry streak of colors. #5 - There is not a simple, easy way to make a copy. You have to press several places on the screen to do that. Why isn't "print on one side" the default? I keep forgetting to change the setting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by hpfaninnorcal from HP inkjet printers are the best I purchased this model HP Office Jet Pro 8135e to replace a well worn model HP 8035. I like the all in one features and the auto feed document tray. I like the 2-sided printing. I like using ink cartridges that I purchase whenever I need to replace them. The printer works very well with one exception. Occasionally, when printing a document it "freezes" and doesn't finish print. I cancel print and usually have to turn the printer off then turn back on. When I turn it back on, it resets itself. This doesn't happen very often. I never had this problem with my older model HP. Because I love all the other features of this printer, I am just dealing with this glitch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KayLue from Flimsy newer model I got this all in one as a replacement for an older model whose functionality ceased. I am not as impressed with the newer version as it feels far less sturdy than the older. The pull out tray feels flimsy like it’ll break if you push too hard. I also haven’t received my ink for the new printer so I cannot print currently. Otherwise, it works fine.
