This is my 3rd Pavilion and the first one with the AMD processor. I am very pleased with the performance of this machine. It is very fast and the picture quality is stunning. I’m so glad that I purchased directly from HP. The online assistant was very knowledgeable of all the machines that I considered purchasing. They helped me find the machine that met all my requirements and price point

Functional

Very happy with my purchase

Great laptop
Such a great laptop. I bought it for my high school aged kiddo. He said it works great for the work he is doing and is also pretty cool for gaming. It arrived quickly and we couldn’t be happier with the support we received in choosing which laptop to buy.

some pluses and some minuses
While this computer is amazingly fast to start up, there have been a couple of problems. I purchased a program with the computer (PC Mover) to bring everything over from my old computer. First off, the program came with an ethernet cable and the new computer does not have an ethernet port. The software also worked over WiFi, but it was slow. Some programs didn't transfer and others were non functional. HP should have offered something else. The computer will not stay connected to WiFi very long before it drops. Still working on finding out what is causing the problem and how to resolve it.

Not great
The main key to depress is slow and hard and doesn't work quickly and lightly the way other computers of mine have done. Also there are many times when I depress a key and a window pops up that has nothing to do with what I am working on. Not a pleasure this one.

Easy Return
Returned without a problem. HP very cooperative. I did not realize that it did not have touch screen and that keyboard had finely etched keys on silver background making it very difficult to use if not in well lit area. HP makes it easy to return and credit card showed credit (less $50 restocking fee) in 5 days.

New machine
Had this new computer about 1 week. So far it is working great. Start up is fast and meets my needs exactly as most of my use of it will be for surfing the net and communicating. Appears well built and should get a number of years use out of it.

Pretty Nice but not great.
I was pretty sure I had read something about its keyboard being backlit or at least the keys were visible in low-light conditions; I didn’t and they aren’t. Also, be prepared for spam-like emails pressuring buyers to purchase software packages that are complimentary for the first month. And yes, a credit card is needed for those so they can renew automatically every year in perpetuity. On the plus side, it’s fast (really fast). And the monitor is about as impressive as anything i’ve seen. The 15.6” screen display is a beautiful upgrade from the 14” tablet I use for work.

What a great computer!
I did a lot of research when choosing this computer. I always have more time than money, so I wanted to make sure I was getting the best bang for my buck. This was it! I love this computer! It's fast and the images are beautiful on it. It's a nice looking computer also. I don't think I could have picked a better computer for what I needed. And the price was excellent at $499.99. I would highly recommend this computer to anyone.

Lots of Bells & Whistles
On behalf of our 15-year old grandson, I ordered HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eh3047nr. He knew the exact features he was looking for and the fact that it was on sale made the 15-eh3047nr an excellent choice. Even though he was slightly disappointed that this particular laptop is not a touch screen, so far, he is very happy with his choice. Being a current HP owner second time around, I highly recommend their products.

Overall I would give this computer 4.5 stars. Very fast to start Windows. Wish it had backlit keys. The printing on the keys should be a darker color, it's hard to see. Function keys are the worst. Very hard to see the printing.

Perfect size for travel!
Outstanding customer service rep. Talked me into upgrading my recent laptop purchase (14") to a faster, larger size (15.6) and overall better operating system and more memory (16gig). I received this within two days. Very pleased with it so far. Everything loaded normal, no problems connecting to wireless network or printer. I purchased this for my husband to replace an old relic he is using and for travel. I needed an adapter for his monitor to connect via HDMI to VGA. It just arrived yesterday. Not sure if it went via China or what but i purchased these items on the 17th and just received the connector on the 30th. (12 days). That is not what I would say is good timing. Hence the 4 star rating. I know I could have purchased via another shopping outlet and received in two days but the sales rep was very helpful on the overall purchase. He also talked me into the 3 year HP Care package. What I thought was great, is if it is not used, I will get a full refund. Can't beat that.

Customer Service and Exchange Communication Lacking
On 11/30 at 7:25PM with consultation from your HP.Com Store I ordered a HP Pavilion 15 Laptop PC Product Number 794P5Av order number H357286542. The laptop was ordered with customizations to increase the memory and upgrade the graphic card. Estimated delivery December 11th - December 15th. The cost $470.10 paid with visa, address (hidden for security)
On 12/7 at 12:42 PM I received notification from the Hp.Com Store that there were delays with creating the build of my computer: H357286542 CE08881059.
On 12/14 the laptop was delivered at 5:00p.m. HP Pavilion Laptop 15z-eh300, 15.6"

The laptop was a gift and remained untouched in the box from 12/14 - 12/25.
On 12/26 I reported an issue with the laptop, CASE Number: 5117011799. Brand new PC won't load windows just shows a blue circle spinning and spinning. To which I spent over 2 1/2 hours running diagnostics with your technical team only to find out that there was no wifi, or operating system and that the configurations I paid for were not added.
I sent screen shots, walked through all the steps they asked me to via screen support change which included going into the Bios and running diagnostics on the hardware, validate the hardware was not there and the operating system was never loaded. I was instructed to purchase an expense flash drive to download an operating system and go through many technical steps to load the operating system. I was told I needed to spend money and purchase a flash drive to download on a different laptop I owned and download the operating system. I was then sent an email at 12:49a.m. on 12/27 with technical instructions on how to complete a recovery on the laptop you sent that was broken, using my own personal equipment. Of which it was 32 steps that included many detailed instructions as if I was a technical HP Technician. The case was closed: Case Number 5117011799 - has been Closed CRM:0095758000539.
I contacted HP support again by phone CASE Number: 5117062736 12/27, session ID for this incident is 7474025 and expressed that I should not have to build my own laptop, that the even if I took on the role of the HP technician and built my own laptop the hardware configurations, I paid for extra were not included and that I needed an exchange immediately. My request was agreed to without the need to send back the broken laptop with: CAS-258-5788-G5H2X4. I was told 24 to 48 hours I would receive a call from a specialist to provide me with my tracking number for the exchange laptop. HP person started a return on my account. I did not execute the return or agree for them to execute a return, this was agreed to be an exchange, once I get the laptop with the configurations I ordered, I would send back the broken one that was sent to me that was not even configured with windows.
On 12/29 I contacted for support session ID for this incident is 7476054.
Confirmed by Agent Millie: that my laptop replacement/exchange was in process and that I should wait 24 to 48 hours before contacting again.
January 2nd after not receiving any contact from the HP Specialist I contact HP again with Case Number 5117251045 - has been Created CRM:0079503066875. Looking for a status. I was again required to repeat everything that had happened and was given a new case number: 2593881-J1Y7-G7 and asked to wait 24 to 48 hours for a specialist to contact me.
Again waited 24 hours; and on January 3rd asked for status again: Case Number 5117424414 - has been Created CRM:0079503087197. Again was told that a specialist will reach out to me with a status on my exchange. I had to go back through all the conversations and steps I took to get an exchange without having to return the broken laptop first. Was told again 24 to 48 hours a specialist will call me.
I waited 24 hours and on January 4th session ID for this incident is 7482603 was created again going through all the historical conversations and case numbers again expressing that a exchange was to be in process without having to return the broken laptop and I was given confirmation in chat and on the phone that this was going to happen. Again, told to wait 24 to 48 hours and given this number to call myself.
Waited again another 24 hours and contacted HP for a status: session ID for this incident is 7484526. Had to go back through all the historical steps and cases that were opened, had to express that the exchange was to be done without having to return the laptop because the laptop came to me without an operating system, and without the hardware equipment I purchases. Was given a new number to call and that a specialist would be calling me with a status of my exchange laptop. 1-888-444-8834.
I can't even ask for a refund, due to the HP person initiating a return on my account without my permission.
Where is my exchange laptop, you have had many opportunities to provide me with where the exchange laptop with the configurations I paid for is in the exchange process. I am forced to contact you, no one has ever called me.
Despite being assured that an exchange was in process, I have yet to receive any concrete information or tracking details for the exchange laptop. Furthermore, I am deeply concerned that a return was initiated on my account without my permission, preventing me from even considering a refund as an alternative solution.
I urge you to prioritize this matter and provide me with the necessary information regarding the status of my exchange laptop. I have been patient throughout this process, but the lack of communication and resolution is unacceptable. I expect a prompt and satisfactory resolution to this issue.

Laptop functions just fine, BUT I missed that it doesn’t have an SD card slot. I do photography as my hobby so having this (my old HP 15 had one, so i just assumed….my bad!) is an extreme annoyance.

Is it a Frankenstein?
The computer performs reasonably well for an inexpensive laptop. It is confusing and somewhat disconcerting that the specs on the model I ordered (15Z-EH300) indicate it has a micro SD slot (it does not) and that the wifi card is Mediatek MT7921 2x2 (it is Realtek RTL8852BE). Seems that HP could build consistent with advertised specifications.

Improper description of laptop features
I was hesitant to order this laptop due to tother reviews. People were saying when they received their laptop id did not contain and a ssd port for camera cards. In the description on -line it was stated that it did have a ssd port, 3 usb ports and an hdmi port. I contacted hp directly and the sales agent assured me this computer did contain the port for camera cards. I ordered it with the reassurance it contained what I needed. I received the computer and sure enough there was no camera card port. I immediately returned it and called HP. I was then told I had to call tech support and have a trouble ticket before I could return it without a restock fee. It has been a major hassle, and I am not sure I would buy from HP again.

Not worth the time and money.
I have had nothing but problems since I received my computer 3 weeks ago. It started on day two and the computer was freezing, locking up, and flashing from one page and app to another. Over the phone, they checked the hardware and determined the problem was app related. I did a complete restore that was sent to me, as soon as I finished the restore it began to lock up again, so far this has been a bad experience. Problems still exist.
