Rated 1 out of 5 by RRider from My HP didn’t work The ProBook was for my wife. She struggled with it for nearly 3weeks until I returned from deployment. The keyboard would stop working and the screen would suddenly dim automatically and not allow you to adjust it. I tried to troubleshoot the problem and finally tried a complete factory reset which did not work; the same problems persisted. Any troubleshooting was hampered by the keyboard not working. I then tried for 4 days to get help via my online HP account but the site won’t recognize the serial number. I ordered the unit from HP online from my HP account. I couldn’t find a number to call and finally tried the chat service who wanted me to try and troubleshoot it with them via chat. What a nightmare. Finally, they created a trouble ticket and said a representative would call me within 48 hours. About 36 hours later they called and argued that I was now two days over the 30 day warranty and I was no longer eligible for that but I could use the 90 day warranty option to try and do more online troubleshooting or send it to a repair site. I explained that I wanted to return it and just get one that worked versus taking a few weeks to ship it, get it tested, have it returned, then me test it, etcetera. HP argued that returning it wasn’t an option but finally said they would get back to me. It’s now been three days and no word from HP. They make it as difficult as possible to get ahold of them and when you do, it’s a nightmare. I hope they call soon and have good news but at this point it’s been nothing but problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by VAPOB from HP machine great, Windows 11 - well, there are issues With regard to the machine itself, it's great. Fast, great display. Love the backlit keyboard and separate numerical board. Plenty of ports. Someone wrote that they couldn't put an ethernet cable into it. There is a port, but you have to move an access cover for that. Biggest complaint, and I struck a star off my rating from 5 to 4, has nothing to do with HP but everything to do with Windows (which of course is loaded on the HP machine). BEFORE DOING ANYTHING with your set-up: decide if you want to use "cloud" storage, because the setup of the machine LEADS YOU AUTOMATICALLY DOWN THAT RABBIT HOLE! Yes, there are "pros" to cloud backup storage, but there are "cons," too. Your mileage may vary - you decide what works for you but my "warning" is that the SOFTWARE will make that decision FOR YOU if you're not aware of it. I fell to this and "clicked through' the setup steps and all of a sudden I was getting a cloud account and all of my files (which was taking FOREVER b/c there's a lot of data) were being uploaded. Ended up having to set up a new local user account, then manually transferring my files from old machine to this new one, then deleting my files from Microsoft's "cloud" storage then finally deleting the "cloud user" on this new machine. Again, you do what's best for you, but be aware that the "default" is to use the "cloud." If you don't want that, take the appropriate steps for your equipment to set up your local system. Some of my trouble, in all honesty, is my computer naivete. Fortunately my wife is an expert and she saved the day!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Susie F from Perfunctory Product, Bad Customer Service Great price on this pro book but the images from some websites are blurry. Swapped it out for a pro book with a better graphics card and it did not resolve the issue. My old cheap HP laptop has better images for the same websites. Customer service was a nightmare. I spent hour on the phone being transferred 5-6 times per call to different departments and not anyone spoke good English. It’s worth the extra money to get a different brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Highly Dissatisfied I waited to open it for a special occasion. It was going to be a gift. The box it was shipped in doesn't have a mark on it and is in perfect condition. The "egg carton" that holds the computer inside the box is in perfect condition. However, the computer itself is damaged and has separation in the right front corner. The bottom of the computer is bent enough to separate 1/8" from the face containing the keyboard. Also, someone already starting setting the computer up prior to me turning it on. There is no way this was missed. I believe someone at HP purposely shipped a damaged, used computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Better Than Ever! I am soooo glad I purchased this notebook! It is the size I want with all the "cool" additional features that I THOUGHT I could only get for a price of $2K or more. I am very pleased. Plus, I was able to make this purchase with monthly payments. Another bonus! Glad to have qualified! I am a happy camper! :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by John SB from Probook disappointed. I had to return the Probook. The RJ45 port was too small for a standard Ethernet cable. In addition the display adapter was faulty. It couldn't support dual displays. The specs were great however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Transfer Help I enjoy the speed of my new hp. The transfer of data worked out well. It was impossible to find some of the required entries for the transfer to work; so, I asked the person in the chat box to help. That worked out fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from This is a pretty good computer so far, except for its speakers. I am enjoying this computer quite a bit after not having bought a new one for 10 years. Windows 11 is of course awful, but that isn't HP's fault. I am using this device as a home computer and although its description clearly stated it was more optimized for business, its hardware specifications and sale price met my requirements. I haven't had any problems with it yet (knock on wood). But because it was optimized for business, I wonder if my one dislike about it is due to that optimization: the speakers seem to be weak on the unit, being very faint and tinny. Watching Youtube videos for instance is somewhat less enjoyable because of this. Perhaps I have a setting wrong, or maybe I'm supposed to only use headphones for sound. I don't know if this is common for business computers, is limited to this model, or is a quirk of just my unit. I wish there was something that could be done to improve the sound quality. Other than that, I like it. I hope it lasts at least as long as my previous computer.

How long will the battery last under normal typing and searching use?

Asked by: FinnMaxx
Thank you for your question! As this is a customizable laptop, no battery life information is available. As with all batteries, the maximum capacity of any battery included in the HP Hardware Product will decrease with time or use, and the battery cycle life will vary depending on product model, configuration, loaded applications, features, use, wireless functionality, and power management settings. Typically, an HP ProBook 460 G11 16" Laptop has up to 8.5 hours of battery life, which will vary depending on the actual laptop.

Thanks for your question. You will be able to use your current Microsoft 365 account with this laptop. You will just have to sign into your Microsoft account on the new laptop. Microsoft 365 will be preinstalled on the laptop. Any files you have in your Microsoft cloud storage will be available on the new laptop. Any software you had installed on your old computer would need to be re-downloaded and installed.

is this computer AI installed

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question! It is unclear what is meant by, "Is AI installed". All Windows 11 have Copilot installed. Windows Copilot is an AI-powered assistant that offers answers, inspiration, and support for creativity and collaboration. It's available on Windows 11 and in select global markets, including North America, Asia, and South America. You can find Copilot on the taskbar or by pressing the Windows logo key + C. Hopefully this answers your question, if not, please resubmit the question and clarify what is being asked.
