Pluses and some minuses
This laptop performs very well with the only considerable downside being the load of trial software that was installed requiring considerable effort on my part to remove starting with McAfee. If I purchase another computer from hp I will specify that no trial software be installed unless approved in advance by me. If hp cannot comply I will go to another vendor.

A Happy Buyer
It was very easy to set up. I used PC Mover to transfer from the old computer and everything worked really well. This computer is up to date with the technology of today and so a good step up. Plus I bought the one-time Microsoft Word package and it's been very useful so far.
Plus, my cat walked across the keyboard and the computer stopped recognizing the SSD so it would start. But I turned it off, closed the lid and set it aside for a bit. Came back later and everything booted up fine!. I don't give the cat the opportunity to walk on it anymore.

Great value and awseome specs
Great gaming laptop. The value is incredible for the price. Got the i7 20 core cpu with nvidia 4060. It doesnt stand out like most gaming laptops so ots perfect for gaming and professional uses.

Great laptop.
Custom build with the highest HP offered upgrades available for this laptop. Excellent for the moderate gamer and anything else the average user would need. My only complaint is that it runs a little hot, but I expected that with the upgrades I chose. I put it on a cooling fan base when gaming which seemed to help.

Good mid-range gaming laptop
Overall anemic performance compared to what I was expecting, due to only 16GB of ram (planning to upgrade). It is lightweight and has a clear screen. Purchased on sale, so it is a decent value. Benchmarks well with high end video setting, although cooling fans are loud under load.

Build issues bring down an otherwise great laptop
Horrible laptop chassis creak on the entire right side. Supposed to be their most premium build, but the flexing and creaking is a massive issue. HP support told me it was normal. Avoid.

Support? Where oh where can you find it?
Purchase was somewhat bumpy as I could not get the website to recognize I was a VET, even though I jumped through all of the hoops required with ID.ME. Had to engage Chat support to get that resolved. Once I managed to finally get them engaged it took like 45 minutes to get it ordered. Not exactly an easy process. After that the computer arrived before the time estimate it gave me on the purchase. Overall very happy with the unit, only problems I have ran into:
1. I always use a cooling pad and the airflow of the Omen seemed to be pulling from the side and exhausting from the bottom. Which fights the airflow of the cooling pad. I tried to find a actually support number for HP to call, and must say they have hidden them well.... The automated tech assist was useless for this problem, and of course NEVER leads you down the path you can actually talk to a live person. I never did get any support, the issue seemed to resolve itself. I must say I miss the day I could actually CALL HP support and get support....
2. When transferring information from the old computer to the new, realized I had not checked what ports and functions came with the computer. Well, not fair really, the website never gives you that information that I could find for the computer. For example the fact that the Omen does not come with ANY memory card reader is not something you can easily find out during the purchase, and a big disappointment in the machine.
Those are the only two issues I have had so far.

Well built. I definitely recommend the larger battery. Even with the bigger battery i get around 8 hours of battery life while doing class work. Heavy load can drain the battery in 2 hours.
Gaming performance for your $ is a 90/100(was bought on a sale). Most games will run solid 60+ fps on 1080p ultra settings.
It is relatively light weight for a laptop with a 3060. The charger is unfortunately larger and heavier then desires and definitely adds weight to the back-pack.
I am definitely happy with my purchase and think I got a good deal with the sale. I would not recommend this to anyone on a tight budget. I also wish their was a numb-pad instead of a calculator button.

Great Gaming Gadget
I'm enjoying gaming on this laptop. The graphics card switch automatically between the NVIDIA and the Intel perfectly. The light keyboard is very helpful to see all the keys. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and hope this laptop lasts me the 10 years my previous one did.

Solid well performing machine.
This laptop is so amazing. The performance and graphics are exactly what I needed for gaming and streaming my content out to the world. I am a content creator and this gives me the performance that I needed. It is also a very beautiful machine. The white is so classic and clean looking.

So far so good! I've been able to run any game I've wanted to play with high to max settings and still get a very smooth experience, so i'm enjoying what I have right now. Upgrading the ram wasn't a hassle either and I plan to add more storage in the next few days. Overall, it's a good laptop, but you could probably find one that can do the same for less.

What is the largest storage supported by Transcend Laptop 16-u1047nr? Does the Thunderbolt 4 ports support charging the Laptop?
Thank you for your question about the OMEN Transcend Laptop 16-u1047nr. It has the ability to use up to a 2TB SSD. The Thunderbolt 4 port is capable of charging the unit, but at this time that is not a charger that has the 230W through USB-C that would be able to charge the unit and so it comes with an AC adapter that you would want to use.
