HP LIFE, a free business skills training program from the HP Foundation, provides courses to empower individuals with new skills that allow them to thrive in the digital world, including starting and growing a business.

Maria Micho, a small business owner, found it hard to build brand identity for her company, noting that she “would just put up a random photo” for her logo, making it harder for people to find her company. “With the HP [LIFE] classes, I learned how to design my logo, and that’s what I now use across all my social media.” She also learned how to design her business cards, all helping to increase her business’s success.

As part of HP’s efforts to advance digital equity for millions of people across the world, we form strategic partnerships that allow us to provide meaningful experiences for people seeking to advance their skills, while making strides toward our ambitious goal to accelerate digital equity for 150 million people by 2030.

Through our partnership with YMCA, the HP Foundation provides technology and access to HP LIFE courses, which are leveraged to increase community members’ familiarity with computers and provide them with the necessary learnings to participate in the digital economy. As the world continues its digitization, it's important to expand access and learning opportunities to those who have historically faced barriers to contributing to the digital economy.

From steps towards independently using a computer to building and expanding your own business, the partnership between YMCA and HP LIFE is inspiring people to reach for what they may have once felt was out of reach. Advancing digital equity is critical to empowering people to take on new challenges, embrace new opportunities, and participate fully in the digital world and digital economy.
