Areas of Specialty
Yuichi's journey in data science began during his PhD studies. In his student years, he spent two years as a machine learning engineer internship, which helped him grow his data science knowledge. In the lab at graduate school, his research was centered around cell and molecular biology, and he applied data science techniques to biological experiments. At the same time, Yuichi achieved the title of Competitions Grandmaster on Kaggle.
Yuichi subsequently joined Turing Inc., a startup developing fully autonomous electric vehicles, as one of its first employees. Currently, he serves as a senior researcher in the AI research team. His work focuses on developing vision-based end-to-end autonomous driving models and creating world and intelligence models for autonomous driving. Additionally, Yuichi is developing “Heron,” an open-source library for vision language models that can integrate large language models.
As a Z by HP Global Data Science Ambassador, Yuichi's content is sponsored and he was provided with HP products.

What can you now do on a Z that you couldn’t do before?
I can now quickly work with huge models, including large language models and multimodal large language models.
What is the next thing you want to learn or experiment with on your Z workstation?
I am interested in exploring efficient and rapid training methods for large generative models.
What’s your favorite Z feature?
Their compact but powerful performance really appeals to me.
