Rated 2 out of 5 by Woodvegas from HP OJ 8139e Printer initial review So far it has not been as reliable as my old 8600 printer. It loses its WIFI connection too easily and then intermittently emits an alarm about the lost connection which cannot be permanently disabled which is quite annoying. Was unable to activate the free 1 year of instant ink without making it tied to the printer forever which is misleading advertising.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Bad Printer This printer is from the dark ages. It is a nightmare to use and should not have even been sold since it is out of date and difficult to use. I have tried to contact HP to return it under the 30-day contract and they avoid talking to me until the 30 days runs out. This has been a very stressful, difficult experience and I could have been sold a printer that actually meets my printing needs instead of this ridiculous printer. You have to go into a separate screen and create a printer tray to print envelopes and then you have to delete the printer tray before you can print regular copies again. Nothing is automatic. This is some kind of design flaw intended to frustrate customers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by It’s a Winner from Difficult to pair with HP computer and wireless network. A little difficult to pair it to my HP computer and my home internet, but after several attempts it worked. The printer works very well once it is paired with the wireless connection, but it wasn’t seamless. Nevertheless, it a very good and responsive device.

Rated 4 out of 5 by J. Eiche from I Always Trust HP This particular model is great for the price. The caveat to it being excellent is the tiny screen, the screen touch sensitivity, and the menu layout. Not that it’s terrible, but it takes some getting accustomed to. Otherwise, the setup is relatively simple, just be sure to step through the instructions. Our hp9010 print-head wore itself out in less than five years under light duty and the scanner feed stopped functioning. Our hope is that the 8135 will be more durable. So far—good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Nowhere near as good as my old HP 8600 OfficeJet Pro I was forced into buying this machine because my faithful old HP 8600 OJ Pro broke. This machine does not print as good, and the software sucks. It seems as HP's only mission is to figure out some kind of way to force consumers into getting on board with their ink subscription plan by hook or by crook. Having been a loyal HP customer for everything for over 40 years, it disheartens me to say that when it comes time again for a new printer, I will be looking at other brands. Big Tech has gotten too big and really SUCKS bigtime! I say, break them all up so that competition and real innovation can come back into the marketplace.

It is possible to turn off automatic double side printing, or turn it to single page print?

    Asked by: MaxFm
Thank you for your question! Typically you do this on your PC. Go to control panel, devices and printers, right-click the icon for the printer and from the drop-down menu select printer properties. On the window that opens click Advanced and then printer defaults and turn off duplex. Do the same for printer preferences on the general tab.

When I scan a document to my computer, it only scans the actual text and not the space around the text, making a letter for example look really odd as it shrinks it down to just the writing with no border. How do I change this?

    Asked by: Darren B
Hello Darren and thank you for your question! To scan an entire image on an HP OfficeJet, you can use the Full option or manually adjust the scan boundaries: Place the original on the scanner glass or into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) Touch Scan on the control panel If prompted, select Auto to let the app select the edges of the item, or Full to keep the entire capture If prompted, click Apply or Next If further help is needed, please contact HP Tech Support at this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en
