Cheap body
I've had 3 HP laptops in the past. All 3 I built out myself, the last one was 12 years ago. I since switched to a different system but when it came time for my husband to get a windows laptop, I knew I wanted to get HP.
He didn't need anything really fancy so I opted for a ready to ship option. I looked at the specs of hardware more than anything and the large price tag of over $1700 slashed down to 60% look super appealing. Also this computer is highly rated so I didn't look into it too much.
But the body of the computer is cheaply made. It's a light, soft feeling plastic. The keyboard isn't backlit.
To me, the computer is worth the price I paid of $689, not full price of $1700. So I feel doped like the price was never actually $1700 and they just put that on there to make you think you're getting a higher priced computer at a great deal. My husband works construction and really does need a sturdier computer to pack around than this. But since he's very new to computers, he's keeping it.
If you looking for something with a backlit keyboard, this isn't it. Price point was what he was looking to spend and again the hardware is what he needs but I can't get over how cheap the plastic feels for a supposed "$1700+" computer.

Cheap and slow
Every time I picked up this laptop, I could not stand to use it. While I admit that I’m particular about my technology, this device feels exceptionally cheap and slow. Neither worth the retail price nor the heavily discounted price. Quality should be the standard these days, even for the entry level offering. Less SKUs, more focus.

Happier than a 'clam in sea water'...
This thing is 'bullet proof'...... Heavy duty 'business' dreadnaught!!! Only had it a short while, but it has proven itself a really well built, ready for anything BRUT!!! I think, in some ways, it 'out preforms' my MAIN computer. It definitely has a faster log on, log off. Also, the wifi is simply amazing. I need it for graphics with Adobe Photoshop, and for writing some stories and memories. I just love this thing.... I think in six states, I am currently engaged to it!!!! LOL

Great black Friday purchase
Boots very quickly, plenty of SSD space for applications and data. Like the SD slot for more and easily added memory. Changed from 17 to 15 inch display and feels like minimal difference. Thought it would be more of a difference. Nice and thin compared to my last laptop.

Received a wrong product
I have not revived my replacement laptop yet! I ordered a laptop with 512 GB SSD storage but received one with 256 GB SSD storage. I sent back the product and I’m still waiting for the new laptop with the correct storage space.
