HP Store Returns Policy

Return Period

As a valued customer, HP wants you to feel secure in the knowledge that your online purchase is protected. If you are not 100% satisfied, you can simply return the product within 30 days of the invoice date for a full refund. Some conditions apply. See below for details.

We encourage you to try out your products right away so that if there is a problem, you can return them before the returns deadline.  We accept returns and exchanges for up to 30 days after the invoice date except on software.  After the 30 day period you can get support for any product issues from HP Technical Support

Clearance Items

Clearance items have a 10 day return policy.

Software

Software is excluded from the 30 day return policy. Returns are not accepted.

Large format printers and select LaserJet printers

Large format printers (for example, Designjets) and select LaserJet printers are excluded from the 30-day return policy. Due to the size of the product, returns are not accepted.

Before you return or exchange your HP product

HP Technical Support provides easy access to expert advice on all your HP products. We offer extensive service and support around the clock, in English or French

We reserve the right to verify that you called Technical Support before we exchange a product.

To process a return or exchange

We can only accept returns on orders placed with www.hp.com/ca-en/shop/ store by phone or online. We can't accept returns or exchanges for items from the Parts Store, HP Technical Support, HP Store USA, HP Retailers, or repairs.

To return or exchange an item, you must first get a notice of return authorization number (NOR) by calling us at (877) 231-4351.

  1. Check your e-mail for the return instructions and print it within 10 days.
  2. Replace the product in its original packaging and include all items that were originally in the box.
  3. Remove (or cover) any original shipping labels and affix the new label.
  4. Follow the instructions on the email to proceed with the return

Note: You must return the product within 10 calendar days of the issuance of the NOR.
If you don't follow this process, your credit or exchange may be delayed, and you'll assume risk of loss and payment of return shipping charges. Do not refuse delivery or return the product without calling us.

For exchanges, we must receive your returned product before we will ship the new item.

Refunds

Credit for returns is issued once we confirm receipt of the merchandise. Please be aware that your financial institution will need to process your credit and, depending upon the financial institution, it can take up to 20 business days to reflect the credit on your account.

Taxes (if applicable) and original shipping and handling charges are refunded with returns.

We can only issue refunds to the same credit card that was used in your original purchase. When you return items from a group of items purchased, the remaining amount spent may no longer be eligible for any discount you may have received (e.g., for gifts with purchase, free gifts, buying in quantity). If this is the case, the discount is subtracted from the price you paid for the returned item. To receive a complete refund, all items from the original purchase must be returned.

If you’re returning parts of an HP promotional offer or bundle, we will subtract the full price of the item(s) being returned from the total price paid and, if you paid more than such a resulting amount, HP will refund the over-payment to you.

Exchanges

Replacement items for exchanges are shipped once we confirm receipt of the merchandise.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Can I change or add products to my recent order?

Once your order is placed, it cannot be changed. We are unable to change or add to the order no matter how small the change may be.

Please wait for us to confirm the order cancellation was successful, as we have a limited amount of time to cancel the order before it ships. Although we will try our best to assist you we cannot guarantee we will be able to cancel your order in time.

Can I edit my current order (order details, shipping/billing information, email, etc.)?

  • Once your order is placed, it cannot be edited. If a change is necessary, you will need to cancel the current order and place a new order – see detailed cancellation instructions below. Please wait for us to confirm the order cancellation was successful, as we have a limited amount of time to cancel the order before it ships. Although we will try our best to assist you we cannot guarantee we will be able to cancel your order in time.
  • Delivery address changes may be possible without order cancellation and replacement but are subject to timing and security verification. Please contact us as soon as possible for further advice.

How to cancel an order that hasn’t been shipped yet

We pride ourselves on our quick turnaround time and this means there is only a small window to cancel your order before it ships. Although we will try our best to assist you we cannot guarantee we will be able to cancel your order in time.
